Water spilling while driving

Water seems to be spilling out of the corrugated hose at the top of my fresh water tank while I am driving. By the time I reach my destination, I only have 2/3 of a tank left. Does anyone know why this happens and how to correct it? Thank you. Jeff

It's possible that the fill opening is not high enough above the tank
and it's letting your water slosh out.
Are you really loosing 1/3 tank??
That's a lot.

One solution would be to plug the fill hole after filling.
I suggest you measure the hole and then visit a marine dealer.
They often have rubber bilge plugs in various sizes.
Hopefully they can fix you up.
Bass Pro Shops probably have them also.
If they don't have the right size you might find a cork at
Dee's crafts or Hobby lobby or some other craft place.

Why would you want to be travelling with a full fesh water tank anyways? If its 30 gallons, that 250 lbs of extra weight to drag down the road.

I can't speak for Jeff but we have done it on occasion.
1st-- it's wind drag rather than weight that kills your MPG.
2nd-- we've occasionally gone to camp grounds that did not
say if they had water or not or we were afraid the water would
be shut off for the winter.
3rd-- One CG we visited where we did not bring our own
water was using chlorinated pond water. It smelled like a swimming
pool and was cloudy. It was probably safe to drink but the coffee
or iced tea tasted terrible. If we ever go there again we will arrive with
a full tank!!
I usually travel with 1/4 tank but sometimes you just gotta bring
your own water.

I had an RV that would spill water out the fresh water fill but no where near 1/3rd of the tank. It had a dip in the fill line and once I raised the line in the middle a bit it almost quit doing it. The sag in the fill line also cause problems when filling.

I had to pull with that RV full of FW because the tongue weight was way too light without it.

Yes!
Our last trailer also towed better with at least some water
in the tank for the same reason.

We haven't ever come across a campground that doesn't have potable water.

my 96 coachman would loose lots f water, but the fresh tank was right at the fill opening and every left turn water would pour out of the door
i put in a Large chaeck valve like used in pumps for fresh water wells, hd or lowes or any plumbiing place should have em, , you will need two short pieces of pvc to screw or glue into them, then 2 hose clamps to clamp on y our fill hose. and BAM your fixed, it will allow air in and water in but not let it jump back out.

I just picked up my '08 Salem 26tbss and during the inspections, one of the techs mentioned if traveling with a full tank, I may loose a 1/3 to 1/2 out of the overflow tube. He suggested I install a valve so that I can close while driving. Our first trip this last week confirmed this. After about 230 miles, upon arriving at our destination, we had about 1/2 to 2/3 of a tank. I guess I will install that valve.

I didn't notice any water coming from the fill connection.

My Wildcat will also lose water via the overflow while driving. The shut off valve works well to control this issue. My sensors on the tank are not too well located, and I am not sure of the amout of water I actually lose. If you are dry camping every ounce of water is critical. I never travel without some water in the tank. May want water while driving, and other reasons. In July we stayed at a State Park that had its water system contaminated by flood water --thus no potable water. Our tank was nearly full so we had no problem.

I have the same problem with my sunseeker 3120 Class C but not much water is spilling out. Maybe I overfilled it.
