What do you think of this prototype feature?
It's a 4 port USB charging station, with a small net to keep things out of the way.
You don't have to use the net...cord will reach to the dinette top or cup holders behind the sofa.
Just in testing phase right now.

I'd like one. We're always charging something using a mess of 12 plugs & adapters.

I did something similar.Only bad thing I've found,is that it takes forever to charge the Ipad on the 5 watt USB.Takes no time on a 110v plug in with the adapter.

The issue is amperage.
iPhone uses 5 volts, 1 amp
iPad needs 5 volts, 2.1 amps.
we struggled with a lot of USB chargers because if there are (2) ports it is 2 amps combined. So (1) iPad you are good. Plug in (2) phones you are good. (1) iPad and (1) phone. No good.
This 4 port charging station we found (and decided would be most user friendly) has all (4) USB ports rated at 2.1 amps.

We're thinking if this works, we can get rid of most of the 12V power ports. (other than what is on the chassis).
Most people are not using a "dedicated" 12V car charger. I have a little 12V car charger plug that has (2) USB ports built in. Seems like all the new ones come that way.

By the master bed would be better. Often use the phone or tablet as a kindle at night then let it charge.
By the entertainment center would be good too since it is fairly central.
The net does not look too classy; maybe in black or brown to go with the decor would blend better.

We would still like to get something by the beds...but our main buyer is families. Up by the dinette/sofa means everyone can use it. Looking for single USB ports or a combo USB/100V for night stands.
Right now, the wall is tan, the net is tan. I didn't want the net to stand out, just blend in. I have asked for tan mounting tabs...I want it to not stand out.

You're correct, the tabs are the problem.
Is the net big enough/strong enough for an iPad?

Good thinking to what looks like a great idea. Should have the same setup in the bedroom and living areas, for flexibility.

How about those clear tabs used to mount mirrors?

Nice feature. Does the USB port run on 12 volts DC or 120 volts AC?

I don't care for it being roof mounted. Seems the cords would always be in the way. Your best bets would be one 4 port by the nightstand, a 1 or 2 port in each bunk (if it has bunks equipped) and then another 4 port near the entertainment centre (for powering ipods, etc that might be streaming audio/video.) You can put the net kind of behind the TV to hold them up while making use of dead wall space.
The only reason I can think of for wanting it to reach the dinette/sofa would be for the kids to have power while in transit. In that case, you're probably better off looking for an under seat solution where the kids can pull power from the fascia of the dinette booth, or somewhere around the sofa, depending on which has the seatbelts.

I'm no mh owner but I'd love to see that set up in an outside compartment.
But that's just me and my opinion.

X2. I would prefer a wooden 'spice rack' style set up instead of the net, it would look classier.

Well, I'm hoping that if they implement this the nets and the outlets become generally available. I could use that net near the door to hold the swath of campground paperwork we always get.
