My first year with the MH I did not pull a toad. Used only rental companies that would pick me up at the campground. Worked great.

What about public transportation closer to metro areas like Cherry Hill campsite in College Park md. that offers hourly shuttle service into DC or 2 campsites out side of downtown New Orleans, must be many others, just saying. Not much into the camping aspect as into sightseeing the larger metro areas.

Wrangler Unlimited with Blue Ox setup and M & G Engineering brakes...easy hook up and disconnect, no boxes or brackets to mess with for the brakes. The Jeep makes a great toad....

Jeep

2014 jk 2 door, w/auto, blue ox base and bar, wireless patriot bake, brake buddy. 7 pin to 6 pin wiring. Pull behind a 2300 with a 4500 chassis. Works great, aka goatdog.

Two summers ago we camped about 45 minutes west of Marquette. Stopped at Marquette airport and rented a car for a week. Travelled the whole western half of the UP in the rental car, returning to camp each night. Most airports have car rental agencies. Mackinaw City has rental agencies that serve it--some a short distance away at Pellston airport.

Sure, but I don't travel through Pellston on my way to Mackinaw. It's just easier for us to tow.

I tow a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with blue ox base plate and roadmaster Blackhawk all terrain tow bar.

Tows very nice. I did increase the air pressure in the air bags to 75 psi from 60 psi. For some reason that made a difference going over bridges in the back and forth rocking.

So far towing has been very easy.

2014 CRV behind our Class C. Complete Blue Ox setup including brakes. Wish now I had known about the braking systems you don't have to hookup all the time

2013 Cherokee Trailhawk Jeep behind our 3050 motorhome. 4 wheels down and not as hard to get into as the Wangler. We towed this summer without any problems. Takes us about 10 minutes to connect the car to the motorhome - I usually do one side and my husband does the other side. I took pictures so we could remember where all the connections go, and was glad I did.

I tow a Ford Fusion (FWD) on a Master Tow dolly with surge brakes. Don't have to stop and run through the gears every 6 hours and using a dolly I can tow multiple vehicles without having to worry about base plates. After numerous trips the only time I ever had to disconnect the dolly was during a rally where all sites were back in.

Ours is a 2014 automatic CRV. No mods. Just a short procedure to go thru before taking off and repeat after 8 hrs if still traveling. 2015 CRV is not towable.

Towing an 05 Jeep Liberty 4x4 which is great because other than sticking the transfer case in neutral and having the wheel lock off it's easy breezy.

Now if we ever figure out how to get this Blue Ox Patriot brake unit to work for more than 2 corners we'll be all set. It seems like it bounces around in the floorboard way too much and sends itself into error 8 land.

One time, when it applied the brake it pushed against the seat adjustment lever and shoved the seat back. I'm starting to think Blue Ox makes really great tow bars but not so great brake packages.

1984 Jeep CJ-7 behind a '14 3010DS with a Smittybilt tow bar attached to the off road bumper. Gotta disconnect the rear DS but that's it and IMO it's WAY worth it to be styling around in my classic Jeep...and sometimes working on it in to the wee hours of the morning when something goes wrong. Such is the risk when driving a 30 year old vehicle...
