Are you referring to the wire loom, the cable or whatever is behind it?
can you describe what is behind?

I am not sure, what make, model, and year vehicle are was inquired about here??? It may be part of the evaporative emissions controls for a gasoline engine. It is clearly for the chassis and not the coach.

OK cool. Then it must be on a Ford cab and chassis. That will help someone who owns a Ford cab and chassis help identify the component. I am not familiar with the Ford cab and chassis to say for sure the device is other than I suspect it is part of the emission control system for a gasoline engine.

I cant remember exactly what it was called. Last year I searched the molded in part number on the box. It came back as part of the evap/emissions system.
This was on a E450 chassis.

Edited to add.
Found the part on fords parts site. It is the fuel vapor canister, definitly part of the evap system.

Then that would be what they call a “charcoal canister” in the industry. Fuel vapors from the fuel tank and/or fuel system are collected there and then burned in the engine when running so our environment is not polluted with gasoline vapors.
