What length do you call your MH?

I am now the new owner of a used Sunseeker Class C. The overall length is 27' but the model number is 2450 so I'm guessing the model probably loosely correlates to the length of the actual coach area/living quarters.

Anyway, the previous owner called it a 24 footer but I was thinking it's really 27' but now after thinking it over I guess he's probably right in calling it 24'.

So, what should the length be referred as?

I call the length, what it is on the spec sheet.

The model number means nothing. Use the spec sheet.

All depends in which context you're referring to it. The answer to "How much space yawls gots inside?" is different from "Can you fit in this space with this tree here?".

Not a motorhome, but with our TT, it was 29' of livable space, 34' tip to tail. In the early days I used to book sites telling them it was a 29', cause that's what the model number said, and ended up having to deal with some tight spots. Later years I booked telling them it's a 34'.

New garage

Bought an Isata 3 and didn’t want to risk that much money in a storage lot so I built a garage that met our HMO requirement. Built a very expensive 28 ft deep and 14 ft tall garage. Bring my new baby home and drew a crowd of neighbors who were betting on whether it would fit or not. 10 ft wide door that was supposed to be 12 ft tall. 3 in less than 12 ft. after framing and a little less than 10 ft wide after trim. Needless to say, I have 3 in to spare on height and can clear the mirrors on width. Now comes the length of a 25 ft motor home in a 28 ft garage. 3 inches to the back wall leaves 3 in between front bumper and closed overhead garage door. So close to having wasted a lot of money, but she fits.

I would learn what the real world overall length is and go with that. My Concord is a 300DS, it is actually around 32'-9" plus the goody basket on the rear. So pushing 35' or a bit more. I always look for 35'+ campsites.

I have a sister to your 2450 a Forester 2451s. The specs say it's 26' 11" and I've measured the same.

Isn't it a great camper & floorplan. We are absolutely thrilled with ours. You don't see many of this model and they don't make the floorplan any longer.

Happy Campin!

Yeah, I love the floorplan. I was looking for a nice used 2290s which is basically the same as the 2450 but a couple feet shorter.

I actually ended up finding the RV because the previous owner had it listed as a 24 footer in his ad. Then when I saw that it had less than 7,000 miles, upgraded paint, hydraulic leveling jacks, etc. then I had give serious thought to the slightly longer unit than what I had been looking for.

My Class A displays 31. If I am making reservations, it's 30' long. I found CG's round up to 35', if I say 31'. Most likely it will measure 32' "ferry" length. :-)

Mine is 27 feet. I tell that to the Ford garage. Camping reservations I call it 30.

Our 2019 Hemisphere 272RL is listed in the specs at 34'4''. I believe that number is correct from bumper to ball. If you decode the VIN it says it is 27 feet long. I'm guessing the "box" is 27'. As others have said the model number can be a mystery as to why the number is what it is.
