Considered that cover, just more comfortable with the tow lights especially in inclement weather.
OP may want to consider a tow bar cover

We use Blue Ox and the brake buddy with our Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Have traveled several thousand miles and everything has worked great! We have a Class C.

Using Blue-Ox bar & baseplate with RVI2 brake system & light harness installed in the 2012 Edge - combo works well for us. Used it all season so far without a hitch (no pun intended) wow, didn't know you can flat tow an all wheele drive TOAD....

i started with a tow dollly but it was too dificult because of a bad shoulder. i now use a blue ox. you might want to check with motorhome magazine"s toad guide, i don,t believe a subaru can be towed.http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ies/crying.gif

You are correct. All wheel drive Subaru can not be dolly towed however, IF you check the 2014 tow guide the manual, 4 cylinder Outback can be towed 4 down. I think this was the last year for manual shift for the outback. Subaru went to the CVT transmission which can not be towed.
However, I did get the dealer to confirm in writing as a condition of sale.
My Outback has approx 8k towed miles with out issue and I expect many more.

We too use a blue ox, patriot brake powered from always hot 12v in console, and a roadmaster brake buddy to keep the toad batt charged without feed back (diode). Brake and turn light (diode) wire kit inside down the pass frame rail to right rear lamp to feed the jeep tail lights to prevent conflicting imputs. Two year in toading no issues to date....

towing Subaru outback

I was going to ask this question before but can an all wheel drive vehicle such as the outback be towed with all 4 wheels down or does it need to be on a flatbed with all wheels fixed?

I use the Blue Ox Aladin tow bar and car guard. No brake because toad weighs only 1900 lbs.

I tow a 2014 Subaru Outback, manual shift transmission, 4 down. Got about 8000k towed miles. No issues. I think all Subaru automatic transmissions are not towable and no all wheel drive Subaru can be dolly toad. They can only be trailered. Checkout the tow guide. It is a very good guide. A guide is issued every year with the back issues on line.
Hope this helps.
