Where did it come from?

Where did it come from?

Yesterday I opened the storage box on my 2008 Sunseeker 3100SS that is next to the generator on the driver side and found it had about a 1/2 of water in it . It has been raining but the long slide has been closed and I find no water or anything inside. none of the others are even damp. I cannot figure out where the water came from..... any ideas.

Thanks

We also have a 3100 but only had water in any storage compartment if I didn't latch it well. The ones with two latches will leak if both are not latched.

The one you are talking about only has one latch, the lock. Check your gasket by putting strips of paper where the door meets the gasket, lock it, then pull out the strips. They will pull out easily if the seal is not tight.

Considering the age of your 3100, it would not be a surprise to find the gasket is compressed and no longer fills the gap.

We'll that could be it. But all the storage doors let the paper slide out with very little effort, but only that one had water

You can tighten those by gently bending the catch. Don't bend too much.

The cargo bin on our 2014 WOrk & Play 25 ULA leaked. It was coming in through the hinge. The hinge had slits in it you could NOT see unless there was a light behind it.

Maybe for a test you could wrap the latch tab with duct tape to tighten it and compress the gasket.

Replacing the gasket wouldn't be hard. You need to find a good solvent to get the old one off. I'll check what I have used an post it later.

Had a similar problem with my unit is was the boarder seam outside the hatch. Clear caulk and no more leak couldn't believe how simple. Before that I added New weather strip around all hatches. Looks nice with the new strip but wasn't the problem. My unit is 2007 3100
