Do you ever notice a smell in the coach by storing in the compartment?

Never...not in our old Bounder and not in the new Sunseeker. We rinse the hose out pretty darned good after we dump, and I clean/disinfect the compartment a couple time a year. Never been a problem.

X2 Caps on the hose too. Same as Widogmom except there's no we.DW sits in the cab and has disinfectant ready for hands. Almost forgot to mention first time out when pulling the hose out somehow opened grey valve just enough to get a surprise uncapping drain and quite a laugh from DW(last time she watched me do it)

No smells. I rise out the hose well and then connect the ends together. I need to find my hose caps in my basement, then I'll be using those.

6 inch conduit carrier kit

Yes, we took the 5 inch fence post approach on our sunseeker 3010ds. The post is hung off the frame using threaded rod about 6 inches from the back. Works well.

By the time you buy the fence post, the gutter to go inside, the end caps and the mounting hardware (ESPECIALLY if you use stainless steel, like I did), you're probably somewhere around the same price as the commercial one you were looking at. However, I personally think the fence post version is superior in terms of what it can hold. Here are some pics of mine on my Roo 19.

Here's a sketch of how I attached it to the frame (basically I captured the frame rails between the fence post and large fender washer, with another washer cut in half and slid in between the fence post and the fender washer. I've also attached a pic of the bolts/washers on one side of the frame rail and another pic with it painted black on my Mini Lite. I put two bolt/washer sets on each side of the frame rail (i.e., 4 on each rail for a total of 8 bolt/washer sets). You could really get away with just 2 sets on each rail, either on the outside or the inside (hidden!!), whichever you wanted. (Some people drill holes in the frame rail, but I wasn't comfortable doing that.)

Satisfaction of doing it yourself: Priceless.
