Who uses an rv cover for snow protection?
I'm taking delivery of my Sunseeker 2300 in a couple of weeks and was wondering if I should use a cover for the winter. The 2300 will be parked outdoors. I never covered my TT for the 10 years winters I owned it but I have a bit more invested in the 2300. Any thoughts on covering the unit? Pros and cons?

I went with the car/RVport, for under $3000 I thought it was a good investment.

I've aways put my TT in a storage building. We have over 200 inches of snow to keep off the roof.

Where we live covers don't last due to the high winds so a metal carport type would be cheaper for us in the long run. Covers can rub the paint.......

This is the first MH for us and we covered our 2860 with a CalMark cover. Not taking any chances with any winter damage.

The past 2 Travel Trailers I have owned were always covered during the Winter Months. Special Care needs to be done in order to prevent holes in the cover. Things like your gutter down spouts need to be covered with a tennis ball or pipe insulation. Any areas that the cover could snag on needs to be covered with something to prolong the life of the cover. Unless you can store it indoors or under a carport this is your next best option if you chose to keep it covered.
I spend more time preping the trailer for the cover than actually installing the cover. I just want to get a few years out of the cover so I'll spend the extra time covering items.
Hope this helps.

I never got more that two years out of a cover. I went to indoor storage for the winter.

I keep my Sunseeker and toyhauler in a pole building. I did however use a cover on the toyhauler for 2 years. Biggest pain was shoveling the snow off one winter when we got a 2 foot wet snow. Not sure I had to but my dealer suggested I shovel to be sure the roof wouldn't get damaged.

I just bought a Camco cover for my 3010. This is the first time I have had to park it outside as I am loosing my current storage building. Hopefully this will be the only winter it sees outside... (Other than our winter camp trips)

Classic Accessories PermaPro
We just covered our camper with a Classic Accessories PermaPro cover.
Very light weight, good fit and I liked the strap ties.
Will see how it last.

This is the third season with an Adco Tyvek Designer cover for The Beast. I wash the trailer roof and sides well a day before I cover it and other than a light coating of dusty stuff on the roof, when I uncover it the trailer is bright, shiny and ready to go. I tie it down nice and snug so paint chafing is not a problem.

Camco Cover
Installed camco cover on my 3010... They could do better with directions, but I figured it out. Took about 30 minutes.

Wow
Wow, 200 inches of snow??? Me thinks I'll stay in Kansas!!
Although the NOAA weather guy just gave us a red flag fire warning today and then snow towards the end of the week .
I had a cover on mine over last winter and we had a 80 mile per hour thunder storm come through and it turned my cover into a diaper
Fiver sits in a carport today.

I have covered all my trailers. If you in a high wind area no matter what you do you will get holes in your cover. But even a cover with holes protect your investment. The holes usually occur on corners. Covers are cheap compared to replacing decals and great for saving the finish. I have learned to go with cheaper covers, because as I mentioned no matter what you do your cover will get holes, and save the money to put to a new cover in the future. I actually had one cheaper cover last ten years. Yes it had some holes but did its job

Where do the holes occur on the cover ? Just a guess, the gutter spouts ?
If so. do you use tennis balls on the ends of the gutter spouts ?

Covers are okay but if you have the space, a pole building is much better and makes maintenance much easier. If you have a Sunseeker you are probably looking at about 10% of the cost of the RV, much better protection and you will likely recoup the building cost at resale because it will look like new.
