Hey BC, please push the factory to come up with a retrofit for installing the recliners in the 3010/3011. I would think many of us would spring for the cost to install either dealer or factory. I know I would. Anyone else wishing for that retro, way in please.

You're welcome to install them yourself or have a local shop do it. We're not much into the retrofit business. Someone over on the Solera thread just had their dealer put dual recliners in their unit. We won't touch it due to liability.

Here's the 6-month old thread
Remove Dinette / Install new Dbl recliner 2013 24S
Silly me! I thought that Henry Ford's philosophy ("You can have any color you want as long as it's black") had gone to a quiet place to die and would never come back. Yet here it is again!
I can see being stuck with a sofa or a dinette when you buy secondhand coaches. You expect to be stuck with someone else's choices then, but why should you be forced to hold your nose and buy something NEW that you don't want and maybe only the manufacturer is sold on?
Here's an idea! Offer "Nothing"...a big open space... in place of the dinette. That would save us the trouble of removing new dinettes before installing the dual recliners we wanted in the first place.

You can already do that. You can omit just about anything you want.

Thanks for this welcome news. I never knew that omitting stuff was a possibility.

FR should make several different couches of the same length and width and let customers pick and choose what they personally like. This is how Newmar does business. They allow a customer to semi-customize each RV they make if they want to.

So we can omit the dinette. If the door is wide enough (>25"), a very narrow recliner could make it through.

Newmar builds about 1000 a year. Forest River builds about 8000 per year. Just a completely different business model and definitely different price point.

Like that sofa- we still have that uncomfortable jackknife in the 3010ds - gotta get rid of that! Is this one more comfortable?
