one way is to subscribe to the thread

You should see a "thread tools" dropdown box at the top of the forum.

Open it and click the "subscribe to this thread" button.

Now, you can use the quick links tab near the top right hand side of any page here on FRF, and use the 'subscribed threads' option to view them.

I'm using Firefox. Right click the link in the box 'Recent Discussions' then select 'Bookmark this Link' then follow the prompts. I place it in the Bookmarks Toolbar and delete it when done reading.

Something the moderation might take into consideration is the My Threads/Replies links.

On the other forum I use daily, at the top, this appears. I can click "my thread" and it takes me directly to a list of the threads I've started. "Replies" takes me to a list of all the threads I've posted in whether subscribed or not.

Not sure if it can be incorporated here, but it is a really handy tool. If it is already here, I haven't found it yet.

Looks like this:

You can also go to "User CP" and click on "my profile". Then you can click either of these two links.

So if you like a thread and want to view it later, you can either "subscribe" to it and get a notification any time anyone else posts to it, or you can just reply right then with "subscribed" in the post field. Then you can get to it by the "view my posts" link.
