Red face Certificate errors? NOT SOLVED

Every time I go to a new page on the forum, I am getting the message "Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with certificate errors." I am using my PC and Internet Explorer 9. I assume this message results from something associated with FRF content, and not my equipment or settings. I’ve been ignoring it for a few weeks, but it is really starting to annoy me. I assume that others are getting this message as well. Has FRF determined the cause of this and attempted to fix it?

Have you run Windows update recently?
You may have an old version of the certificates.

Lou: According to my machine, it has run Windows Update almost every day and there are no important updates available.

I would then clear the cache and delete all the temporary files.

For Windows users:
Look for a program called "Disk Cleanup" in the "Start" "Accessories" "System Tools" folder.

Remember if you clear your cookies at the same time, your settings on many web sites will change and you most likely will need to log in again if your PC is set up to auto log in.

For tablets; not so sure.
It would depend on your browser, but clearing the cache won't hurt.

I cleared all the junk and the message is still there. This message will not go away.

Check your date and time on your computer, if it's not right it might cause the error.

OK, I shot my ... well I am out of ideas.

Use the "contact us" button at the very bottom of the screen to push your issue to the "Help Desk" as they may have a better idea.

fonzie and frankm - Thanks, I already this based on some stuff I read on some tech sites, but still no fix. I think there is actually something on the FRF site which IE9 is picking up on, and whether it is of any consequence, who can know. As suggested by Herk, I've forwarded the concern to the Help Desk.

I'm not sure changing browsers solves the problem. (For that matter, I'm not even sure how much the errors matter.)

However, would changing browswers not provide false comfort? I mean, just because another browser might not show the errors does not mean the errors don't exist, right?

I posted about this same problem in the middle of November but I guess it didn't make it up the ladder to who ever the moderator is. Hopefully it will get resolved soon.

The moderators are guys and gals just like you; campers who try to keep a lid on an open forum so everyone can enjoy being here.

THIS admin has very limited experience with boards and am learning as I go (I did not think I ever really got qualified as a Moderator before being asked to be an admin.)

Janet H is the "Admin" who is trying very hard to get me up to speed and it is a thankless job as I am pretty dense normally. I am a pilot by training; you know "big watch" and all.

The folks who "own the board" are at the help desk and they are the experts for this stuff.

Just to be clear, I'm not being critical of anyone, but would like to get rid of the chronic notice from IE9, which is detecting something in the forum about which to alert me. I don't know if what it is detecting is a real concern or not, and don't care. IE is a major browsing platform and I'm sure the owners of forum (Help Desk) will want to get it resolved, since the certificate error message detracts from use of the forum. I think the moderators and our administrator do a great job.

We appreciate the feedback actually.... running down the problem is the bigger challenge

Do you have any add-ins running?

Janet - When I look under "Manage Add-Ons" the following are all which are enabled on my IE: Adobe Shockwave Flash object, Adobe pdf link helper, Google toolbar helper, Two Java plug-in SSV helpers, Microsoft research, and Norton Vulnerability Protection.

I don't have that problem on my laptop, but my Android tablet is constantly giving me notices about an error with the security certificate. I just tell it to continue, but I don't get the error with other sites I use. I don't know what browser my tablet uses, it's just the default that comes with the OS. The time and date are set automatically, so I know they are correct.
