Are you viewing the site on a computer or smart device? Where is the subscribed red light located?

That means the a thread you have subscribed to has been updated (someone has posted on it). Once you view the thread it will go away.

My smartphone is smarter than I am so I need to check with my fellow moderators on this and get back to you asap.

The red light will also have a number in it which lets you know how many new threads there are. A couple of tips here: when you write a message on a post you "subscribe to it". This then notifies you that someone else has replied. When you click on subscribed you will see some threads that are bold and others not. Those that are bold are the new threads (meaning that you have not yet read them.) I am assuming since you can see the subscribed button that you are using an Android phone right?

I moved your thread from the "Useful Links" forum to here where it should be a better fit. If I guessed incorrectly then one of my mod pals will find the right home for it.

If you keep posting to this, that red light is never going to go out

QCCowboy is spot on- this is an app thing (iOS actually works the same as Android). Thanks QCC for the assist!

By default, any thread you post or respond to is subscribed. Anytime that anyone responds after that, it gets flagged as a subscribed thread and that number goes up.

I found a way to change it to "no subscription" because I had a crap-ton and it stopped being useful.

To clear them, you have to go into the thread and "read" it. Bear in mind, when someone responds- it'll come back unless you unsubscribe from it.

If you want me to find out how I changed my default to not subscribe, I can.
