Email notifications

Need assistance please. I went into my User CP panel and changed my setting for receiving email notifications for subscribed threads to "no email notifications". I clicked 'save changes'. I did this twice. Setting now says "no email notifications".

But I'm still receiving email notifications.

Did I miss something somewhere?

Thanks.

Yes. The changes you made affect only new subscriptions. The old subscribed threads you have still have the same old settings. You'll need to change those old subscriptions as well.

You can view these in your usercp - here's a link: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...n&folderid=all

Look over towards the right for check box options to change settings on these.

The link should take you to the subscriptions in your control panel, and it should be dead center.

If not, then scroll on the left hand side down to "subscribed threads" and click on "list subscriptions"

Now you will see a dropdown box like pictured below that'll show a number of how many threads you are subscribed to. You could click on the "view all subscribed threads" and individually edit the subscriptions but since you are wanting to get rid of all subscriptions then just click on the "Empty current folder" option.

You get a reminder asking if you are sure you want to delete these subscriptions...click yes.

P.S> If you have made any custom folders to handle the subscriptions, then you can use the dropdown arrow to see these. Most members don't and the subscriptions folder will be the only one shown.

If you will look at post #1 of this thread, it details how to stop just the corresponding email notifications of subscribed threads. However, you want to stop automatic subscriptions and the emails.

I checked your account and you were still set to automatically subscribe to threads and also receive email notifications of such. I turned that off for you while I was there.

You should be good to go from here on out.

PS: To edit the automatic subscriptions and the options available for it, you use the "edit options" tab in your control panel. In your case you want to set the default thread subscription mode to "Do not subscribe" as pictured below (which I already did for W5CI) .

This way, you will not automatically subscribe to threads you participate in, nor will you receive emails since you are not subscribing.
