Extra lines between paragraphs in posts?

I tried to see if I could find anything on this in the forum help and faq area but did not see it.

For some reason my posts have an extra line between every paragraph in the initial post. I can go in and edit the post to take the extra lines out, but that gets old. It looks fine in preview, but once posted it is double spaced between the paragraphs. Is there some setting I missed or am I doing something wrong. I'm not having this issue in any of the many other forums I participate in, just this one.

I'm not editing this part of the post so you will see the double lines between the paragraphs "as is".

I did go in and edit the same text with a single line between paragraphs here:

Just hit return twice and start typing. Ignore the cursor position. The extra line will show up eventually.

Much ado about nothing?

Lots of posters do little to spell or grammar check or even to reread to make their posts actually make sense...

Like this title here...

Frozen fresh water tat

Yours look great, extra line or not.

Hi,

My posts do that too. I immediately go to the Edit function and fix it.

FWIW.

What browser are you using? What Operating System? Are you using Tapatalk or another one of those "helpers"? Can you try a different setup?

My laptop started doing the same thing about 6 months ago. As I'm typing everything looks fine but changes to double space when I click Post Reply. It is annoying.

I am on a Win10 gaming laptop using Firefox signed in on Forest River Forums - Forest River Owners Community and I don't use anything else.

Just for fun, try using a different browser for a test. Maybe Edge, the one that comes with Windows 10. If the problem doesn't occur, it's a Firefox problem.

Has to do with the text font selection in some browsers. I need to go back and find the solution.

Larry

It has something to do with FRF, as dward51 mentions no other forum has this problem.

I absolutely will not use MS Edge. Though Microsoft advertised it as better than IE, it is an integral part of Win10 and it still uses IE as it's base software. There is no way to completely disable nor is there a way to uninstall either one from Win10 Home.

Nope, can't conclude that, as I have no trouble with FRF.

Doesn't matter. Let's see what dward51 finds when he tries a different browser.

BTW, if you are so biased against Microsoft, why are you running Windows? Linux and MacOS are viable alternatives.

I'm running Windblows 10 and using Chrome for my browser on desktop and laptop.

No problems with this site.

As I remember, someone proved it to be a Firefox unique issue but I'm not sure. I know I use Firefox on my Windows 10 laptop and my iPhone Xr and I have the issue. I've decided to ignore it since I've heard the world has a surplus of blank lines.

Well that might explain it. I'm using Firefox on a windows box. This is the only forum I've seen this in though. Yes, I can go back in and edit out the lines after posting, but...... I guess it's my old fart side showing, why is it doing this!!!!

I use both Win10 and Ubuntu (a version of Linux) as many games will not run well on Linux. Mac systems are too expensive and many games will not run on them. Heck, until I retired I was using MS-DOS 6.22 to operate a computer controlled machine.

FYI, if you have a Windows hdd crash just attach it to a Linux system to recover your files. I have never seen a hdd that windows has trouble reading that linux couldn't recover. For important data, I recommend using linux for transferring the data to a new hdd.

Mine does the same, and I'll have to find our previous conversation on it. It's a Firefox code change and how it affects the rich text editor on certain sites including ones using vbulletin older versions.

You can actually change the code to revert back to how it used to be in Firefox. I'll have to find all of this again.

No offense to anyone here, but if an extra space between a paragraph is bugging me, I would seriously step back and do some reevaluation of what my life has become.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.

Sometimes the digital gods just have to have their way with our digital lives...
