FIXING a FORUM Issue maybe?

Hello fellow RV'ers and FR members,

I truly do not want to sound like a know it all, by asking my question or make anyone feel at all uncomfortable.

Forest River Make a lot of differant RV's, could it be possible to add into this FORUM a section for CLASS A, then CLASS B, then say CLASS B+ and so on CLASS C, TRAILERS & 5th Wheels, PopUps.

Just a Suggestion as it is a bit difficult finding the right area of topics of special interest. Thanks

I do see MOTORHOMES, which is a bit confusing If were talking about solar Panels, having 8 to only 3. or engine blocks, Bathrooms are all a bit different. As for CLASS A, CLASS B. It make it very hard to answer what may appear to be a simple question by a user with not a lot of feedback and forth or input to the question. "How much tire pressure should I keep in my tires" Here a simple question needs more information starting with the type of vehicle/RV other than "WHATEVER IS PRINTER ON TIRE" some have different loads as to weights and road surface, or even septic pipe issues as to sizes and macerators. Some folks think a TRAILER is a MOTORHOME, until I ask the question, where is the motor?

As I look thru the forums it seems everything you are asking for is there, what might not be is breaking things down into the detail that you are looking for.

Learn to use Advanced Search. People don't always post in the proper section, and often threads veer off in other directions, so the nugget of information you're looking for is sometimes lurking in the unlikeliness of places.

I agree that the search tool will be very helpful. The motorhome section is broken down by brand and each brand manufactures a specific class for the most part.

That said, appliances in a MH are often the same as those in a 5th wheel and travel trailer and technical discussions like solar, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, etc. aren’t exclusive to one type of RV. Motors may be exclusive to one class of RV though.

So am I to understand that both SeaDog and JayArras are both advocating that MOTORHOMES is correct and therefore should not address Class RVs with Truck Campers?

As I stated clearly about many folks believe a MOTORHOME is a TRAILER, until you are the question, which I stated above in my second post "Where is the MOTOR"? Now TRUCK CAMPERS which are sold by ForestRiver. But at what point do they become a Motorhome as a Class B and Class B+ are both clearly defined

Folks hanging around here are much more knowledgeable about MH vs trailer or truck camper so there won’t usually be that confusion although if someone doesn’t read the category that you post under they may provide an answer that doesn’t apply to a MH.

Looking for some clarity between groups of forum posting. Then as for the SEARCH TOOLS, they do not cover classifications within forums. Thanks for your reply Canada ITAT.

If you absolutely want to limit your search to a particular forum category you can use Advanced Search and under Search Options select “Search in Forum(s)”. I would recommend you not limit your search though. Search results will list the forum category for each hit you get on your search parameters and you can pick from the results.

A TRUCK CAMPER slides up into the BED of a PICK-UP TRUCK. For most people, there is no confusion between that and a unit that rolls on its own tires. Truck campers that slide up into a pick-up truck have their own sub-forum.

I hadn’t thought about it before but I guess the other classifications (fifth wheel, travel trailer, hybrid, pop up) don’t have a subcategory like motorhomes does so it’s an interesting suggestion. Perhaps a forum mod or owner will be along to give you an answer. For now, you have to use the advanced search tools.

Hybrids and popups both have their own section. Travel trailers and 5th wheels are together but divided by model.

If we start dividing the forums up by model AND type it would just make things way too cluttered. As of this moment, I don't see a need for it either. As long as people put what they have either in their post, profile or signature we can figure it out.

I actually enjoy the majority of the post and if post doesn't interest me, I dont read it. Now with that said I have a Coachman Leprachaun and sometimes I look through that for anything new or I post there if it pertains to my RV, otherwise a lot o posts a generic and apply to all. Love this forum.

I was saying that there aren’t any “subcategories” under fifth wheel/travel trailer, hybrid, pop up, toy hauler, etc. If you think above it, fifth wheels, travel trailers, hybrids, etc are all a subcategory of “towables”, but motorhomes has no subcategories like Class A, Class B, Class B+, and Class C in this forum. Just an observation. I don’t really care either way.

How can I make it any clearer that I totally know how to use SEARCH or advance. It has nothing to do with my above 10 or 20 posts.

As for a TRUCK CAMPER (which I do not own) is often referred to as a Class B or C. Which it is not.

But with all the comments posted over my suggestion to add in FORUM Class for an RV.

Never in all my writing, blogging and stories have I been so miss understood, Shown by the number of off-topic replies. I'm wondering if a college education was worth the cost? So much for a 30-page term paper.

Which reflected clarity of thought.

Kind of falls into the category of "NO GOOD AND THOUGHTFUL DEED, EVER WORKS OUT WELL"

Don't have a clue what you are meaning about truck campers being included with class b or c. They have their very own subsection.
