FRF daily topics no longer open.

Ever since a recent Android OS update, the FRF daily topic email links no longer open. The FRF green opening splash comes up but the topic doesn't open. Any ideas?

No ideas, same thing happening to me. Started 2-3 days ago. Used to go direct after clicking a topic.

What version of Android are you running? I'm running Version 9 and I am not having any problems with daily topics at all.

I too am running a note 8 with android 9. Worked fine before last update.

As a side note, everyone in our office, before I retired, would cringe when IT would announce they were "updating the system" over the weekend. We all knew that Monday would more likely than not be a day of computer hell.

Why couldn't they just leave everything alone once they got it working right?

My android S4 still works the same "old" way (because it is old, I know) and our laptops still work the same but DH S6 and the new tablet have this same problem - go to a big green screen that say Forest River Forums and that's the end. We'll be looking for suggestions. Thanks.

I just recently retired after twenty years of working in IT security (operational, not compliance). The number of critical security problems in computers and applications, introduced unwittingly by developers, is simply astounding. Untrained developers write for functionality and do not test for unintended side effects or ways their application can be manipulated by an criminal. Add the lack of training to aggressive release schedules and that's a major reason why we have the IT disasters we have today.

Couple that with companies that do not have a clue and that are trying to save pennies by putting dollars at risk adds to that problem.

Every time I read about a city or a hospital or a business getting "attacked" by ransomware I shake my head and know their IT department is either outsourced, clueless or their management has accepted unwarranted risk. Or any combination of those. It's fairly easy to protect against ransomware but it has to start with clued-in management.

I have no idea what was being updated or why at your company but if they were keeping to an aggressive patching schedule you should be thankful. They helped keep you employed.

There was a time in the I.T. world when programs and software was fully tested before going operational. It rarely, if ever, needed subsequent repair.

They popped up when I first opened the app, it seems to be spotty as it only worked a couple of times. I still had it get stuck on the green splash screen again earlier so it's still not really a solution.
