Friend Request Processing

I know I am posting this in the wrong place but it is important to me to find out how to reply to a "friend request"
I tried to "approve" a "friend request" using the FR website that was sent to me along with the request, but I got a message back from the FR Support Group stating that my approval reply did not get though to person that I thought I was replying to.

I'm not really following some of the terminology being used here. Are you trying to do this on the website or thru a mobile app?

The first attempt was through an email notification and the second attempt was through the FR web site.
I have tried to change my cookie settings but I am not sure that this has solved my issue.

I looked at your profile, and you have one friend there, so something got done correct. Was Grumpy the friend you are speaking of?

Maybe I am finally making some progress.
