Comment in passing for Herk and anyone else interested, although I am repeating myself...
1) It worked up till about 3 weeks ago for me, without fail and it hasn't worked one time since.
2) It is failing anywhere I am, not just home. Home is adsl subscribed 3Mb/s down (not pertenant) and .512M (getting .67M) as of 30 seconds ago.
3) It fails on more than one PC
4) It fails on my smart phone
5) I can upload to album, but not to a post, whether new or someone else's. 6) Members on other communities served by Knowledge Communities (such as Airstream) are having the same trouble that started about the same time, my issues started.
7) It isn't timing out it is failing to upload (the file).

I have no idea where to find the cache since Windows 8 now Windows 10.

I am not familiar with working with the album, since I only now have used it. How do you copy and paste those files? I don't even know how to delete one of them yet.

If you can upload the pics to your album, you should be able to simply link to them in your posts.

1) Right-click the picture in your album and open it up in a new tab.
2) Copy the URL of the picture.
3) In the reply to post, click the insert image icon and paste the URL.

Like so(without the spaces):

[ IMG ] http://www.forestriverforums.com/Pho..._in_Destin.jpg [ / IMG ]

The above instructions would also work if you uploaded the pics to any other photo sharing site like Photobucket, Flickr, Imgur or any of the other 100's of similar sites.

Site Tech,

Tried it several ways. Opened one of my photos, right clicked selected "copy URL in new tab", right clicked the URL in the new tab and selected "copy"

Opened this thread, typed verbiage, selected go advanced, manage attachments, pasted URL into top pane (upload file from URL), upload

Got message "upload of file failed"

File name=

At Ft. Benning MWR in Destin - My Photo Gallery

Then on a photo thumbnail, right clicked and picked copy image URL
Did the same steps as above and got the same error message. This files name=

http://www.forestriverforums.com/Pho...1483114470.jpg

Its interesting that what I copied and pasted into this message is linked (including the little thumbnail). So, you know the URL was correct.

Am I doing it right? Now what?

You shouldn't have to go to the manage attachments or upload anything at all. You are simply hot linking to a pic that has already been uploaded.

Just go to the quick reply, paste the URL and put the [ IMG ] tags (with no spaces) around it and that's it.

Trying like IWRITECODE showed.

I copied the photo and added [IMG]in front and [/IMG] behind with no spaces. I think the bracket are the same and the vertical line at the end was your cursor??

I see an icon, but no photo.

Tried again and it worked. Had to copy image URL and pasted with IMG tags. I feel pretty dense about now. I have heard IMG tag before, but never knew what it meant. Cool.

Can I do the same thing, using an Android with or without the FRF app?

You've got it now.

You should be able to do it anywhere as long as you can cut and paste the URL.

It didn't work because you also pasted the description in there.

If you copy to new tab, the description is there. I didn't realize it, or didn't know to edit it out... do now. Thanks I! This is an awkward way to add a pic to a post, but it will work and the photo seems to be better / larger (maybe?). I grabbed a picture's URL from an ad and added it a few minutes ago; had no idea you could do that. Thanks again. I now see that when you add a quote, you get QUOTE tabs... in similar fashion... I'm dangerous now, and thanks again.

I think the key is opening the picture in it's own separate tab before copying the URL.

Called Maw Bell(AT&T) today and they "think" my modem is old and needs replaced with a new one. Of course, I have to pay $89 to get it! I checked my Download speed= 1.31 Mbps and Upload speed= 0.24 Mbps.
The new modem should be here about Mon/Tues of next week.

Is my speeds above good? Bad? Ok?

If you can get the pics to upload to your album here on FRF or to any other photo sharing site you can use the "work around" detailed above by hot-linking the pics instead.

Timex, my guess is you are in the country far from the serving office or SLC /DLC, on a very old SLC (slick) or both. Your down speed is "best effort" barely qualifying for DSL. Of course, many impairments could kill the speeds. The other factor is provisioning. You might only be provisioned for 1.5M / .256M (down/up). I doubt if a new modem (I'm assuming your not talking router) will help, but it got the repair clerk off the phone with you. However, you absolutely should be able to upload photos, but I suggest resizing them far below what the camera produces. 200K is still a decent size for viewing and greatly reduces upload duration. If you don't know to resize PM me. I only have 3M / .650M and that only recently when the telco upgraded the slick. Another thing, the modem should be the property of the telco and changed on their nickel, at least it would be in FLA

I got into my camera and changed the settings. Took a pic that was 640x480 and 140 kb. Tried to upload 4 times and it would fail after :05.

AT&T guy said the modem is my responsibility(kind of like a phone in your house) even though I bought it from them(1 year warranty). The modem was at least 10 years old. I don't have a problem with paying for it if a new one will solve the problem.
