Increased spam

Ever since our email has been required for sign in to this site my spam email has increased 10 fold (vendors and others). This may or may not be a coincidence but sure makes me wonder. I have not made any changes to my typical routines concerning the internet except for this site sign in requirement.

Personally, I haven't noticed any change. Still getting stuff from the same places.

Me either.
When you visit many forums/web sites each day and get 100+ spam emails per day/per account, it's hard to really justify what caused it.

Maybe all of you get a lot of spam already. My average was 5 or 6 a week till I had to sign in to this forum with my email. I've been getting 15 to 20 a day since. This is the only forum I sign into but I think that this site is associated with numerous other forums and I think signing in here also signs me in to them. Just doesn't seem right.

I just checked my SPAM folder...3 spam messages for the email address I use for ForestRiverForum in the last 30 days...

Nope nothing in my spam folder and no other spam that I haven't been getting before. Actually Zillow is the only spam that I get and I did it to myself.

Well, it is the holidays with the associated spam increase. But not any from new spammers that I can tell.

I haven't seen any spam, gmail separates it out for me. I checked my spam folder and I even had thread notices in it for FRF. Saves me from having to delete them.

I was hacked by a unqiue password only used and returned to me from this site. Since the change to email sign in and stupid long 20 character password it has been safe.

My spam has not increased on the email account I use for this site.
I recommend different email accounts for different purposes. One for finance, one for friends and families and one for forums and various misc. activities. You can have all those accounts in windows 10 mail, or set them up in outlook.

Everyone definitely needs a method(s) to deal with all the spam. It only gets worse the more active you are on the internet. And I swear the 'unsubscribe' ruse only creates more

I too have not seen an up surge in spam from this site. My internet provider and e-mail provider has a spam filter which I use. I do check the spam folder about once a week just to make sure that nothing of importance that I need did not end up there. My spam filter uses my e-mail contact list so, if the sender is not on my contact list it goes to the spam folder.

My DW tends to get more spam than I ever receive, since she cruise the internet on her I-pad looking at items on Pinterest and Facebook. So, the spam flows from those two providers but the spam ends up in the folder. Which than gets deleted weekly.

I get lots and lots of SPAM emails on my regular email address but never any SPAM before or after the mentioned change on the email address I use for this site and 3-4 other minor sites.

Folks we don't sell, loan or rent out member account info. If you are seeing an uptick in spam please contact your provider and for heavens sake, don't post your e-mail address on the web. There are bots that crawl the web harvesting those addresses to sell to spammer houses.

X2... this is why the site team removes email addresses from classified ads. I wouldn't even put my email address in my profile here (nor my phone number).

Today I logged in on my main PC and there was an ad that looked official for FRF about logging on. I clicked....MISTAKE. It changed the home page of my browser (firefox) and had to reset it. God only knows what else this thing did to my computer. I wish the ads could be vetted. it was downloadmyinboxhelper and it was just under the Notices about changing the login method. Very tricky.
