I just updated my phone from 10.03 to 10.1 and can verify you get the message after the update, whereas you do not get it just prior to the update.
On a slightly related topic, that update was a battery killer. The download took me from 55% to 44%, and then I couldn't install until I connected to a power source. At end of update I was down to 32% battery power.

On yet another related note:

We noticed an appreciable shortening of battery life when we upgraded from a10.02 to 10.03; I wonder if 10.1 will address that issue.
Otherwise, we're going to be plugging in every three hours or so when camping.

Send a message via AIM to B and B
If you are travelling to Japan the transit directions are available with 10.1 also bug fixes (battery life and maybe crashing apps...)

FRF is slow a lot of times due to server load. Too many Ford vs Chevy arguments and why Diesel is better threads..

I haven't had any battery issues with 10.03. The biggest problem with updates is app developers don't update their product to work seamlessly with the newer iOS version. It's not a surprise to the developer that an update is coming...they get the beta version weeks in advance of the public update.

I just use Safari to view the forum. I've tried the tapatalk and some other apps but find them way to slow.

The message is a warning from Apple that the app hasn't been updated to 64-bit. It doesn't mean it's actually slower, or that there's actually anything wrong.

Here's an article on the subject:

The forest river app is terrible. Inside the Tapatalk app and love it. Great for managing multiple forums all in one app.

Apple seems to be loosing their customer service focus. Their new MacBook computer design is raising all kinds of complaints, mostly lack of ports.

Apple is famous for not playing nice with developers and existing apps. They do have a proprietary mentality.
