It is always good security practice to never click any of the options that show up on your screen ( embedded link) . Either close the application of or shut down and reboot. If there is a legitimate update needed go directly to the company website and download there.

I am under the impression that Flash will not operate on a Mac device. Isn't that true?

The Tech spec from Adobe say it will depending on your OS Version... See Here.

Darn, if only I would have used my own server, this wouldn't have happened. At least that was one explanation!

Yes, Flash works on a Mac, miserably. That's one of the reasons Apple refused to let it run on the iPhone and iPad - it's a bloated resource hog and a big security risk anywhere, but it's written so poorly for the Mac that it seriously drains batteries and causes CPU overload. (I've removed it from my Macs)
There's a growing demand for Adobe to kill it off. It's one of the biggest security risks out there right now, with many flaws.

Yep, PC World just raked it over the coals. See Here.

I seriously doubt that the malware comes from FRF, but I will report it to tech support for investigation.

I've been seeing it regularly. I'm not sure where I've picked it up but, I do knot NOT to click on it. I simply close that tab. I've run AdwareMedic and other software that supposed to protect my Mac but, nothing is shown as harmful.

It usually comes from the ads. It can launch from a picture just coming up on your screen. I'm a webmaster in my spare time.

I got it the other day and clicked ok, not the highlighted install and it started downloading. Stopped the download but still got an icon on my desktop so I ejected it. No problems so far though I only use this laptop for researching RV stuff on the internet.
Also got it today and just hit my back button and it went away.
