New FR Forum Postings...How Do I Stop Them?

How do I stop receiving 'text postings' of every new thread that is posted on the FR Forum on my IPhone sometimes 2 over a dozen a day?

Click on 'users CP' tab near top of page

click on 'edit options' on left hand side

scroll down to

Default Thread Subscription Mode

Select 'do not subscribe' in the dropdown box

scroll all the way to the bottom and save changes

First, double check your thread subscriptions by going here from a browser (either Safari or from your computer):
List Thread Subscriptions

You essentially want to unsubscribe from anything that you don't care about.

Then you need to change your future subscription settings so that it doesn't automatically subscribe to things:
Edit Options

You want to change your "Default Thread Subscription Mode:" to "Do Not Subscribe".

Finally, I've found that my iPhone seems to tell me the same prompts over and over. To resolve that:
  1. Pull down from the top of the screen to see your notifications
  2. Click the "All" option at the top
  3. Scroll down to the "FRF" app
  4. Click the "X" in a circle to the right
  5. It changes to a "Clear" button, click that

Good luck!

wmtire- just be aware, that only affects subscriptions from that point forward. When I made that switch, I had dozens of threads already subscribed to. I had to go in and unsubscribe from many.

Didn't even think about that aspect. Thanks

You can disable push notifications from your settings menu which would be simpler than removing all subscriptions

Love the simplicity. But, I do think that would take out more notifications than I'd like- I like getting PM notifications and even sort of like when I get notifications when someone quotes my post. And, there are a few threads that I do actually like to subscribed to. The default settings just made it unmanageable when I first started participating often.
