New posts don't show up but do in search??

When I create a thread I find that if I go to new posts it doesn't show up (at least not for me) but if I search for my posts it is there with all answers. As their are anwers I must assume (gee that never gets me in any trouble) that others see it as a new post.

Hmmm????

As I understand the situation, the New Posts list only contains those posts you have NOT SEEN... and since you wrote your own post, you've seen it so it's not presented to you. As you appear to have discovered, click Search and go down the pull-down and click View All Your Posts. Of course, there are other ways to find your own posts.

I use New Posts about once per month.

If you click on UserCP in the green band at the top of the page, then on the left hand side, go down and click on Edit Options. Then on the right side of the page, there will be a box labeled "Messaging and Notification." The 2nd "sub box" under this is Default Thread Subscription Mode. There is a drop-down menu there. If you click on Instant Email Notification, you will get an email every time someone posts to a thread that you have either started or posted on. You can also chose to get an email daily or weekly instead of instantly.

But be careful - it can become addicting!!
