'New Thread' button

The only place I see an option for a 'new thread' is on this Forum Admin page. Why can't I post a new thread elsewhere? I must be doing something wrong..just can't figure out what.

You need to go up a level to the category level.

As an Example..
I just went to Forest River Forums..no button
Then Forest River Community Forum..no button
Then Forest River FAQ..no button
Then Water Heaters..no button
Then Drain the water heater..no button.
That is every step from top to bottom with no option to write my own post.

FAQ's are not available to the general membership to post questions in and says such in the description. The FAQ's are a culmination of useful and more frequent problems encountered in the other forum areas:

Forest River FAQs (3 Viewing)
FAQs and links to discussions covering the most common topics for Forest River RV owners. This section is is closed to new posts to preserve the information.

If using the general community discussion forums, make sure to scroll down past the 5 sub-forums to get to the "new thread" option.

If reading sub-forum titles. you will need to click on the sub-forum itself before getting to a point of posting a new thread.

This may help:

How to post a new question (thread)
Questions or a new topic thread can be started in the section of the forum that best fits the topic you have in mind. Once you have posted your question you can edit that post for a brief period of time.
  • Log into the forums.
  • Click on the "forums" tab at the top of the page. You may see a list of subforum/topic areas.
  • Click on the subforum that best suits your intended post. Once it opens you will see a list of threads already in that subforum. At the top of the list, over toward the left, you should see a "new thread" button.
  • Click on the new thread button and follow the prompts.
Once you have crafted your post, click on the submit reply button below the text editor to submit your post to the board.

Having the same problem. Unable to post a new thread in forum for help with my water system. There are no new thread options in the app.

I don't normally use the app but I just checked and it has a "New Topic" option. Get on the subforum which you think is appropriate and touch the '3 dots' on the upper right corner of the screen. That produces a pop-up with Subscribe, New Topic, Mark as Read and Cancel.

Thanks for checking this out and helping. I'm adding this to a file of app directions that I'm creating so that I can learn and help. Right now my new phone is smarter than I am.

I'm a retired software developer. I have no qualms about clicking an icon I've never noticed. Without having any idea what the dots icon meant, I selected it (in some circles, the 3 dots mean "there is more here"). Fortunately, the "more here" included a New Topic option.

You're welcome. Thanks for the comment.

I have done a lot of exploring on the PC but my smartphone scares me.

Feel free to keep on sharing.
