Pictures Gone
Yesterday afternoon I couldn't open any threads. I'd see there was a "server problem" or be prompted to sign in. An hour or two later it seemed to be working except that there were no photographs and none today.
I'm using Android and can see photos in preview but not when I open a thread.

When I first access, I get a screen "Checking your browser before we let you in, this is automatic", or some such. There's a comment about Cloudflare or something.
Then it maybe lets me in. Then it's normal for a while. Then it repeats. I normally use Chrome to access, if that matters.

Having ^^this^^ issue too with Chrome on a PC.
Also having the no picture issue on Android with both the green and orange app. It appears the photo links are open/broken.

I think it is a result of the new IP checking scheme in response to a DOS attack. For a while, the iOS app did not work at all. Now it works, but won’t show pictures.

The site was under attack yesterday (might still be today too). Please see this link from Janet about the situation:
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ml#post1736410
Hopefully, once everything's settled, it should all be back to normal.

For those not knowing what a DOS attack is, here is Wikipedia's description....
A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) is a cyber-attack where the perpetrator seeks to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users by temporarily or indefinitely disrupting services of a host connected to the Internet. Denial of service is typically accomplished by flooding the targeted machine or resource with superfluous requests in an attempt to overload systems and prevent some or all legitimate requests from being fulfilled.
In a distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack), the incoming traffic flooding the victim originates from many different sources. This effectively makes it impossible to stop the attack simply by blocking a single source.
A DoS or DDoS attack is analogous to a group of people crowding the entry door or gate to a shop or business, and not letting legitimate parties enter into the shop or business, disrupting normal operations.
Criminal perpetrators of DoS attacks often target sites or services hosted on high-profile web servers such as banks or credit card payment gateways. Revenge, blackmail and activism can motivate these attacks.

Nothing to fix really. Once the other site quits their attack, and there's more bandwidth available (less people crowding the door) then the pictures should work again.

As Janet explained here:
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ml#post1736410
These forums (and some others) are being crammed by some foreign scam artists. They had faked some stuff to look like it was approved by us, and when it was detected as well as posted here to look out for them.... they are trying to crash our site so others cannot read the warning about them.
They are basically trying to 'shoot the messenger' so word doesn't get out what crooks/scammers they are.
This is why you are seeing the messages you are getting, as we have backup plans in place for criminals like this, so they can't keep doing what they are attempting. It checks your ISP against the bad guys countries, before it lets you in.
But please do keep reporting any problems you are having like this, so we can make sure it's all good.
Thanks

I wonder if the scammers tied the FRF to Forest River itself? I was trying to get into the FR site last night and it would sit there for about a minute trying to connect, then I'd get a "temporarily out of service" type message.

This is where Janet and our great behind-the-scenes tech team really earn their pay. They do a lot to keep our forums running as smooth as they do.

"Checking your browser before accessing forestriverforums.com.

Please allow up to 5 seconds…
DDoS protection by Cloudflare
Ray ID: 3f04676a858d98f5"
The code after Ray ID changed about every 3 seconds and the site refreshes, this went on for at least 5 minutes until I closed down my browser.
This problem occurred for about 6 hours.
It's too bad that someone hasn't figured out how to reverse the DOS attack back to the offending party.
