Printing Question
Quite often, I have run into some pretty good tips on this forum and it would be nice to be able to print out a post or two for reference. At the top of the thread, I found "Thread Tools" and under that was "Show Printable Version". But on long threads, it shows all of them. Is there a way to show or print just a post or two out of a thread? Also, the printable version doesn't seem to show the pictures and it would be nice to have them printed also.

I'd just copy and paste into Word then print it. Most of the photos can also be copied the same way.

X2 Dave, and if you don't have Word on your computer, just copy and paste it into an email to yourself.
Control C, Control V, Send, Open, Control P

There are limits to the forum software and sadly, this is one.
When I want to print something I do one of two things:
1. I use a screen capture program like Snagit to capture exactly the bits I want to print or
2. Do a print screen to print the whole thing. (ctrl P)
I much prefer snagit as I can manipulate images, crop and even enlarge.

Unfortunately Snagit has a licensing fee so unless you get a copy provided by your company or you do a lot of screen captures, it's probably not worth it beyond the free trial.
If I ever needed to print from a site like this, I'd just print directly from the browser. Sidebars, headings and all. Most browsers will let you preview before you print and then you can specify to only print the pages with the relevant information.

A free tool that I love is Evernote. Not only can you "snag" a partial screen, full screen, or just the URL, it saves it to the cloud so you can access from other computers and devices. You can tag notes to help find them later. I have used it for years and have not come close to using the free space.

X3 I do this and store in in "RVing" on Dropbox so it is available on my iPad, iPhone and Mac
Shame we can't set something up on the forums like this (storage space I think)

So, if I read this right, you take a page from the forums, copy it into word, store it in Dropbox so you can access it on the iPad or iPhone?
Wouldn't it be easier to just pull up the thread in the FRF app on the iPad/iPhone?

Sure would! Assuming I could remember WHERE in the Forums I saw it (same as for stuff I come by on the web)
It is a partial cure for my CRS syndrome

Windows version 7 and above has a "snipping tool" included in the OS so you don't need to buy anything. I use it ALL the time.
I actually added it to my toolbar and my top menu so I have access immediately without searching for it.

Can't you just hilite what you want to print and select "selection" when your printer window pops up?

It's called "snipping tool" and it's in your "accessories" folder of your Start Menu.

Bummer. You can't snip with the menu open!
I have Windows 7. Not sure where to find it in windows 8
In Windows 8, look in your apps (or search) under accessories for "Snipping tool."
