Sad News - RIP Mike

Long time forum member "RADIO" PM'ed me this sad news.

************************************************** ***
I don't know if you have heard the news but the founder of FRF, Mike Rimmer, passed away peacefully at his home about 1:15 CST Dec 28, 2013.

He had been fighting cancer for years.

Thought you all would want to know.

************************************************** ****

Rest in peace Mike...

Yes, I remember Mike I had spoke to Mike a few times privately on this forum, a real nice guy and a pleasure to talk to.
I had thought of Mike not too long ago and was wondering how he was doing but did not know who to contact.
I am very sorry to hear this sad news. If anyone knows his family here on this forum please give them my condolences.
If it wasn't for Mike this forum would not be here......May GOD be with him......

I'm sorry to hear the news. I hope Mike's riding a heavenly Harley to the most beautiful campground in the sky. We only corresponded when I approached him about adopting/fostering this forum. He was a very genuine person who only wanted the best for this community. I know he's proud of this community he founded and glad to know that we'll live on now that he's passed on. RIP Mike.

My condolences to his family as well.

One of Mike Rimmer's first posts titled "Thanks"

Thanks for all of those looking at the site and THANKS for our first official post in the Cedar Creek area.

Several asked why did I try to open this site.

Well I just purchased my first forest river product and found limited specific information. My hopes are that this site can grow and collect a one site fits all for the forest river fans.

Thanks, Mike

I did not know Mike but if this forum is any indication of his character, he was a visionary and a giving man. Prayers for the family.

It truly saddens me to read of his passing. Even in those early days this was a great forum to be a member of. I'm sure he was proud to see his idea blossom into the best RV forum on the Internet.

Being fairly new to FRF, I never got to know Mike or the evolution of this site. I owned a Jayco a couple of years ago, which was a fine product. I was thinking about moving up to a class A and visited several forums seeking information. This forum, by far, was the friendliest and most helpful....and I think helped in making my final decision in buying a Forest River product. That is a testimony to the founder of FRF. RIP Mike. Maybe I'll get a chance to hang with you sometime in the future at the great campground in the sky...
