Security Certificate Errors

I'm having a difficult time trying to navigate the forums. I keep getting a warning that Internet Explorer blocked content from this web site due to security certificate errors....wording may not be exact, but close. I don't have trouble reading posts....it's when I try to respond. If I'm logged in, I'm prompted to log in again...sometimes many times. Sometimes, my responses are lost in the process. Any help is appreciated!

Moderators....if I have put this under the wrong discussion area, please feel free to move it.

I too am getting that message as well as finding that the site is very slow. I just installed ie10 and it is much faster for all the other sites I visit except that I find FRF very slow responding.

I have been getting that message for a few months. It doesn't affect performance but is annoying. This site only.

Certificate Error

You probably need to reset your browser. Under Internet options. Been awhile since I had to do it since I moved to my iPad. Sometimes you also might need to reset your Internet connection. Turn off from the router out, wait a minute and them start up your Internet, turn on your router, your system and then try to reconnect to the site. Good luck!

Same here...been going on for quite some time and is "annoying". I don't have this problem on any other site either!

Murmaids....after going to Internet Options, what heading do you use to reset the browser? Thanks for your response..

Trust me, resetting your Internet options, deleting your cookies, and/or deleting your Browser History will not rectify this problem.

I spent several hours researching the issue. Also tried adding the Forum as a "trusted site" all to no avail.

The Forum IT guru will have to rectify the security certificate issue.

Till it is corrected you can elect to "Show content", or just close the notification. The issue does not impact using the forum.

Tools, Internet options, Advance tab, then rest. You might loose any passwords you have saved in pages. But as a former IT person, the worse thing you can do is save your passwords out on a page. Hackers love that.

Would it not be easier if they posted the steps as a sticky somewhere so we can follow them ? I suffer from the same thing now that I am on a new PC and using IE10. And my new PC (Which I hand picked components and built myself) rocks but I dislike the security errors which I used to not get with my old PC.

These issues are typically unique to the individual, though the error message is the same.

I understand where they/you are coming from, but surely they could post some stuff to check before we contact them. I have been in the IT field too long (all my adult life) and I am aware of what it involves to solve issues, but for those who can check a few things themselves, maybe they can make some information available.

Not trying to be argumentative here, just an opinion ....

P.S. Just in case you get curious, my birth year is vastly wrong on the forum on purpose

Unless there is an issue that is common to all users, than it could be an actual problem with the site itself. I asked about IE10 as there were some changes and IE10 was just pushed down through Windows Updates in the last couple of weeks. If this is the case, there actually could be a problem with the site and IE10. One suggestion here might be to try compatibility mode with IE10 to see if that makes a difference. Can someone that is experiencing the problem please try that? See below:

How to make Internet Explorer 10 run in compatibility mode

I can create a similar error in IE8 but only if I try connecting to the forum using SSL/HTTPS.

For the folks having this issue, are you connecting using http, or https in the address bar?

aka, use this: http://Forest River Forums - Forest River Owners Community
