"Thanks" Button?

I've seen this on a few other forums that seem to use similar software. Basically it allows users to click on a "Thanks" button; which can be useful when a reply is not really needed.

For example; I ask a question and let's say Herk replies with a good solid answer. What may happen on other forums is that a dozen other people see that Herk's answer was the best; so they thank it. (In this case acting like an "I agree" button.)

That way if 12 people like Herk's answer, but then there are two other contradicting answers with no "thanks", I can see that Herk is probably right.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before; the search function will not allow me to search for the word "thanks."

Great idea.

As well, many forums show the number of "Thanks" members get under their name on each post. That way, one can gets an instant rating on the poster.

Look who is talking .. You flew awesome planes forever and now you camp forever ... What else did you have in mind to "have a life"

Surely, not sitting in front of computers all your life working in a virtual world right ? Where everything you do is virtual and nothing is visible ...

Are you insinuating that there IS life outside of camping?

Lou, you are living the dream! Don't apologize.

to be able to camp is the ultimate life. I'm stuck at a desk all day reading about all your camping.
that's depressing

In flight simulator I put a lot of the planes in full reverse thrust and they all move backward

I am so going to get a slap on my wrists for going off topic now

My bad too, for hijacking the thread. Guess I'll just say "thanks" and leave it at that.

Looks like the Admin Team has added the "thanks"- so thanks for doing that. However the way it shows up; only the person being thanked can see it.

What I was looking for was this: [AJAX] Post Thank You Hack - vBulletin.org Forum (Sorry, should have looked it up before.)

And how it shows up on the forum is like this below the person's post:

haha - you are very attentive. We have added a thanks button and are still working out the bugs. I'll post with the details as soon as the various components are in place.
