Trim Line canopy

Hi all, I,m new to Forest River forum. I have a Trim Line awning on my RV. Works well so far, but am bit concerned about what will happen if the wind comes up during the night and we're all asleep. The rod balls hold OK in the holders attached to the side of the trailer during calm weather, but not sure if the rods would pull out under stormy weather. I thought of attaching guy lines from the front of the canopy on a 45 degree angle down to the ground, but when you snug these uo, it tends to want to pull the top rods out of the ball holders.
Any one had this experience, or have ideas on how to secure the canopy under windy conditions?
Thanks.
