I fished Degray a lot when it was brand new! I remember when they laid the pads for the very first camping sites at Arley Moore.......
I've got 52 booked plus FROG if it happens for us, but there'd be more if these Northern Campsite owners would show up for work in the winter!! LOL Can't reach 'em on the phone.........they're prolly in Florida.......

Can't wait until the day comes that we can camp for 50 or 60 nights a year. Or at least venture out on a cross country trek for a month or so. But that's a few years away for us. Gotta get through high school soccer season and graduation and probably 4 years of college for our son first.

If it makes you feel any better, my grandma who passed before I was born, liked to sit and watch them build the dam. It was flooded shortly before I was born, so Degray has always been there as far as I am concerned.

We have four nights reserved in July at Fort Desoto in St. Petersburg and another four reserved at John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo. We will kayak and swim and have a good time, despite the Florida heat and humidity. Unfortunately, it is hard to get camping sites in the winter when we have beautiful weather due to all the snowbirds.

We camp primitive 99% so no need to 'book' anything. State parks and campgrounds usually have a spot and if not, the roadside turnout works too.
Being retired, we don't 'plan' anything, just pack up and go.

We started our 2017 reservations as we left the last campground 2016. We are going back to Townsend TN. Also planning a weekend trip to Caesar creek state park near us in Ohio, the Holmes county FROG rally and our seasonal site for the summer. Now we just have to wait for spring!

Wow! Y'all are serious about your camping around here. I forgot about our 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend that we always do. Plus we will probably do 3 more over Labor Day again both on the Buffalo River. It's a boondocking area that is no charge and no reservations. That'll put us at 22 planned so far. That sounds lots better than 16 for sure. Plus I'm sure we will add several spur of the moment weekend trips throughout the year.
