We'll be heading to Gulf Shores, AL again in March of '14 and staying at Island Retreat RV park for the month. The park has WiFi but it is sloooooow so I always use my hotspot for an Internet connection.

We had a decent view a couple of weeks ago

Site 16, Paul B. Johnson State Park, South of Hattiesburg, MS.

The view was nice, the ducks were hungry.

Campsite Surprise

This morning we were sitting outside by our trailer and as the sun began to come around to our side I decided to open the awning. As the awning opened, something fluttered down across Joyce and landed on the ground between our chairs. YIKES! It was a bat. Thank goodness it didn’t flutter into Joyce’s lap. I thought it was dead, but no, after I took a couple of pics it suddenly flew off. Apparently the bat was sleeping between the rolled up awning and the side of the trailer.

Wow! Not something you see every day, and I admit, I would scream like a little girl. LOL.

A couple of weekends ago, we were camping nearby in Pinellas County (on the gulf) and a squirrel happened by while I was having a snack. Not unusual, right?

Well, last weekend, while in the Keys... it wasn't squirrels going through the campsite, but blue crabs. A little bit creepier.

I'm sure Joyce would have screamed had she known it was a bat that fluttered past her. At the moment she thought it was a large butterfly.

We enjoyed it to. It was a 3 day layover on our way to Disney. GK's meet us at Disneyworld. I told DW that we should stayed there on the back leg just to rest up from Disney. Next time. Yes, our black golden really enjoyed the beach and to be honest, we chose Camptown because it was dog friendly.

Ok, not 5. My iPad is showing all pics in this thread. No wonder I could not find the pups in the other pics.

We packed up today and headed back to our stick and brick house. The water was rising on Carlyle and many more of the campsite power poles are now in the water. Actually when you see Carp feeding in the grass in your campsite it's time to go.

Rising Water

On one of our previous outings, we were up at Pigeon Forge, TN., camped at Up The Creek Campgrounds. Well, it started to rain, and then rained some more and some more. The next morning we were up at the crack of dawn moving the Crusader to higher ground. What was a nice quiet trout stream, became a roaring tarrant the next morning:

Sorry, should have provided more information.
This is Brown Mountain Beach Resort located near Lenoir, NC.
The water running there is Wilson Creek, a great place for trout fishing, tubing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and white water rafting.
Sleeping at night with the windows open listening to the creek is nothing but AWESOME!

Thank you. We will make a 3 day reservation this week as soon as I check my work schedule. You did not say anything about breakfast delivered to campsite.
