Perhaps I should crack open the wallet and buy a fishing license, I do have two more trips to Illinois lakes this year. Although the trip to Rend Lake is for a Wine and Art Festival so there probably wouldn't be much fishing on that trip.

I think you're right. Couldn't find anything about camping there on the web. But we did stay there in March of 2010. It's possible they closed their campground because of the abundance of other facilities in the area.

We're still new to camping at actual campgrounds (have done more yard camping than anything so far), but I have a couple of pics from our stay at Horseneck Beach in Westport, MA earlier this year. We were able to camp within 50 yards of the beach. Best view so far.
Wow force!! The first pic looks like an ad for camping!! Sweet!! What a view when you wake up!

Thanks for the compliment RVChick. This campground is one of my close to home favorites. It's just an 83 mile drive from storage lot to campsite.

We love Carlyle Lake too! We have taken several sailing certification courses there!

Oh oh!!

We went into town for dinner at a restaurant tonight and when we came back there was an orange bag over our site number. OH OH, That means the site is going to close.
Double OH OH, there is an eviction notice taped to our door. We have to get out of the site by Friday. The good news is we were scheduled to leave on Friday anyway.

Where is that? Looks like our fav campground here in FL, where you park right on the seawall.

Gulf Shores Ala

We were there last Summer with the Crusader, boy did it rain. The Blue Angels did not practice that week either. Had a great time, sure was hot summer. The park was nice except no WIFI..

I do like fish tacos, especially the ones they make at the Hangout in Gulf Shores, AL.
