Canadian using cell phone in US

First time out for a longer stay - 3 mos. What do Canadians do for cell phones in the south?

If you are staying3 months, a Walmart phone would be cheaper I would think.

Something different with being a Canadian? I use my cell phone in Canada when I go hunting, all the time and if no signal, use my SAT phone.

You may want to check out roam mobility. https://www.roammobility.com/
I have an unlocked phone and use one of their sim cards when I go south.
Lots of data compared to extending a Canadian plan to cover.

I use roam like home with rogers. Extra $50 a month over my normal cellphone bill and I can call back home and get my emails like I am still in Canada. It's perfect and hassle free.

Who are you with? How about giving them a call and seeing what they can do for you?

When I was trucking, I just got a burner and loaded it with a gift card from Walmart. No prob.

I am with Rogers also....$5 a day is correct but they will charge you a max of 10 days per billing cycle...so as someone else said, call it $50 a mth, although this is not totally accurate as it may cost you more than $50 for the month your first and last month. For example my billing cycle is the 13th...so if I leave on the 1st of the month I will pay $50 for the first 10 days but after the 13th I am in a new cycle so will pay another $50 that month but it will take me to the 13th of the following mth.
