Do you use the tub ?
There is quite a good discussion going on in the thread "Do you use the oven".
We are looking to purchase an RV, and I keep insisting that we get one with a tub. That does seem to limit our choices though.
So I was just wondering...Do you use your tub ?
Would having or not having a tub influence your buying decision ?
Thanks,
Bean

We had a tub in our Edgewater and never used it so our V-Lite only has a shower and we never use it either, find it easier to use CG showers and toilets for the most part except we use the trailers facilites in the night and first thing in the morning.

We have had units with (1/2 tub & seat), (full tub),(shower tub),and (corner shower). All tub anything that we had you would need to be a contortedness to use it. Dogs and kids size. Youroo!!

We have the shower and tub with the seat in it. I don't like the seat there in the way.
We use ours during dry-camping trips, and also on hook-up trips when the campground showers look less than desirable.

Last TT had a tub/shower and in 7 years never used the tub. We don't even use the tub in our house, just the shower. New TT has just a shower and it's much nicer.

Didn't want a tub in our TT because I knew we'd never use it. Most of them are way too small to sit in, so what's the point of having one? We love the shower we have and we use it all the time when we have full hook-ups, and even sometimes when we don't. Just means we have to empty the "blue boy" a bit more often!

We use the tub for all the kids dirty, wet clothes and towels. Expensive laundry basket.

depending on the capacity of the tub you might not have 1/2 enough hot water to even use it, unless you like a cold bath.

We use ours just for the kids. In fact we looked to make sure we had one. Our 8 year old is ok with a shower but out our 4 year old and 2 year old clean up much easier in the tub. With a 6 gallon water heater there is enough to have a decent bath for the kiddos.
We had a popup previously that was shower only. It was a pain in the rear to clean up the kids.

Just to wash the kids and critters their size or smaller. I would have preferred a shower only.
My guess is if you use the tub at home, you are much more likely to use the tub in your trailer.
The really big negative is that they use a lot of water...

We have the shower in our TT and love it. Much better than a tub. We use it instead of CG showers.

We have what Rockwood refers to as their ""Garden Shower". It's a full size corner shower, which we use daily. We use the outside shower for rinsing off sand, pots & pans, etc.

Had the "tub" in our last TT. If I were 4 foot tall it would be a great thing to have but being 6ft I would have to bend in half in order to fit. the DW and I prefer the corner shower.

we will use the tub when there is a line up for the public shower. Also if the weather is very bad we will use it. Of course we have to manage the water usage because in the public shower I like to take my time and use quite a lot of nice hot water for relaxation. Also depending how cleaned the public showers are is a decision that we takes by doing an inspection prior using these public showers. Some of them are not too cleaned and we use only the cleaned ones in fear of catching infections.

As most people above say, if you shower, you'll want a shower and if you use a tub, yoy'll want tub. About 10 years in old 5th wheel with both, used shower a few times, tub never. New 5th wheel (1.5 years) shower a few times, tub never. Never used outdoor shower yet (no pets and kids all grown), although the valve in the outdoor shower fell apart on one trip causing alot of problems. Wayne

Everyone I know that has a tub does not use it nor do they like stepping into and out of the tub when showering. None of them has small children.
Do tubs help to keep the water in and floor dry any better than just regular showers? I have learned to use the shampoo & body wash bottles to help keep the shower curtain secured to avoid finding a small flood.

Ours has the tub/seat option and we use it all the time, but then again, we have a 3 year old and a 6 year old, also good to wash the dog, although our 100 lb shepherd won't fit, he gets hosed off with the outside shower, also a great feature. Good to hose off dirty toys and shoes, etc

I kinda like our tub. Keep the shower curtain inside the tub a little better than a regular shower stall. Can wash the dog (we also have outside shower.. good for washing the dog too.) , do hand laundry, holds the folding laundry basket...doesn't slide all over the place when we are on the move... hide other items you don't want people to see. :O

Our TT also has the tub w/seat option and we love it. I replaced the shower head with the oxygenics shower head and like it much better. Normally we only use it at full hook-up sites, and like some of the others on the forum if weather is bad, or showers at the C.G. are busy. And it becomes a wet clothes/dirty clothes hamper on a busy camping weekend sometimes.

The tub is a great place for the kitty litter box. It keeps the mess contained. Just make sure that none of it goes down the drain.
