But, that would be destruction of personal property, thus opening up a possible law suit, discharge of a firearm not within the legal distance of another occupied structure. Rethink your strategy.

I've been into RC for a long time now I race nitro RC hydroplanes competitively and went to the Nationals the last two years even thinking about the worlds in Holland this summer. I have a Phantom Vision 2 and a waterproof Splashdrone that I've been trying to get some aerial footage of our races with. No good shots so far but I'll give it another try this season.
I think there are some amazing things being done with drones these days unfortunately some idiots fly where they are not supposed to.
Anyway here's a couple pics from the Nats near Sacramento last summer and my buddies trailer who was the designated boat hauler on the trip from Calgary.

For the most part cupcakes, people dont care about looking in your back yard so dont be so paranoid. They enjoy the thrill of flying them. Yes, extreme caustion should be used when flying them. I would think twice about shooting them down unless your willing to face the consequences if found guilty of that act. Your act could cause people to get hurt! Id be more worried about your government spying on you than a Mrs. Kravits...

Drones

I'll, I am at private pilot and a drone pilot recreational and the commercial. I have about eight of them and part of me purchasing my RV was to travel and shoot video.

I'm not into debating the rights and wrongs but if anyone has some questions about where to start maybe I could be of some assistance.

One quick word of warning for US residents, many state parks and all national parks are strictly no-fly zones. So make sure you check with the local authorities before you take off getting that skyhigh selfie.

Cheers

PS here's a link to a video I just recently took and edited if you're interested.

Very impressive footage and accompanying music. Thanks for sharing! This is what we enjoy about drones. Unfortunately, there are many perverts that use them, too.

Bough a cheap Dromida Omnibus and went thru 4 units and gave up. Just saw a neighbor flying the DJI Phanton 3 - now I am interested again. He spent $1500 - I see now the professional is about $1200. He said go with the $500 version if you don't need long range.

WOW!

I went to your Vimeo channel and watched several of your videos. VERY impressive!

Especially liked the brief footage of the fly by at the end of the Balloon shoot

Don't hate drones, especially when used and flown responsibly. Those I have no problems with.
For the rest that screw around with em, to me, they'ed make great flying targets.

I don't think there is any evidence of "a lot of perverts use them". I just think some assume that a drone flying by is spying on them. We see so much video of drone use in the Middle East and assume that is what recreational drones are used for.

The video from my drone is wide angle landscape type video. Once I get up n the air 50-100 feet it is pretty hard to even see me in my shots. If I wanted to look in someone's backyard I would just go on goggle maps satellite view or google maps street view and see more than I could from drone, plus my drone is loud... No sneaking up on anyone

I agree there are people who are irresponsible but there are RV'ers that are irresponsible and we can't cure irresponsible.

Just saying just because someone says they are flying over their house and they will shoot them down does not mean the person flying the drone is even looking at their yard or is a pervert. Most likely they are a person like me trying to get some wide angle scene video.

I'll try to post some of my video if I can figure it out...

I know, that standing there looking up is very interesting! lol. In all honesty, the pic itself is highly detailed but the upload from my phone was low resolution.
