The Best

Half of our camping trips were with the kids and grandkids. The best trip we had was a week long trip of just us two, sleeping in, eating and drinking adult stuff, hiking, and golden quiet.

Most of the clan has bought TTs and motorhomes and we've shown them the "ropes". Now we don't have to quartermaster and house half the family each trip.

We've planned four major vacation trips for 2014, and none of them include the family.

Now if we could find someone to take care of the 3 dogs we'd have it made.

Enjoyed taking our boys on vacations and camping every other week, but it sure is a lot more relaxing now with the exception of one particular Iowegian we met in Goshen.

p.s. All the others we met were "top drawer".

Denny & Suni, what is sleeping in???? It doesn't matter what time I go to bed, when 6AM comes my body clock wakes me up. It doesn't matter what time zone I'm in either...drat.

"Sleeping in" is laying in bed with the dogs, waiting for the DW to make the coffee. Sometimes sleeping in is "playing dead" so the dogs don't start make demands. "Sleeping in" is waiting for the trailer to warm up first.

We're like you. No matter with coast we're on, we're usually on the same sleep/wake pattern as at home, up at 5:30am CST.

Heavens NO, the rest of the Iowegians are great, just one is extremely questionable, to put it nicely.

I am on the east coast too, but we flew down to fort myers, fl last week. Here for two weeks, then back to the cold northeast for a few weeks. The camper is in the driveway for the winter with my truck. Two days after Christmas, we fly down to Fort Myers again, the DW stays until late April and I go back home and live like an animal for three months staring at the RV in the driveway. She gets to be a snowbird and I am just a seagull, travelling back and forth when I can.

I will have it de-winterized before she gets back from SW Florida. I guess I should not complain though since we have three houses, one in Mass, One in Fort Myers and one on wheels.
