How often do you camp?

We started with a pop-up before we went seasonal. We tried to get out on the major holidays and probably 3 or 4 times besides that. We also took it on vacation a few times for a week or so each time.

Now that we are seasonal we are out every single weekend between April 15 and October 15. The CG is close enough that we can drive back into town for softball games, b-day parties, etc. that come up during the year if needed.

I just don't understand the people that spend the money for a seasonal site, then hardly ever use it. We have a few neighbors that barely come once or twice a month throughout the season.

Not enough...it's never enough!!!

We, also, don't understand the folks who only use their RV a few times a summer...they are missing so much fun! (But a lot of people aren't good with their finances, either, so maybe that prevents them...camping can be an expensive hobby if you do it a lot.)

I'm an office manager so sometimes work prevents it but I'm also a shift-worker and our normal shifts are two 12-hours shifts and 3 days off so we try to get away those 3-days. (And discovered weekdays are MUCH more fun as campgrounds are rarely full.)

I have a 4-day break this Sat to next Wed so search for spots and ALL are full Sat/Sun where we normally go. (CO State Parks) So we expanded our search and found 3-days available (Sun-Wed) at a park we've never been to...excited about that!

X2!

With kids in schools, both of us working, and house projects, their never seems time enough to camp. We usually get two spring long weekends until summer starts. Then we average 4 out of the 9 weeks the kids are out of school. Then 1 maybe two long weekends in the fall before winterizing.

Every other weekend unless the weather will be really bad (rain all weekend, sleet, hail, high winds, etc). We are in Texas so it's rarely too cold to go camping.

We take a break in August/September when it's like 106 outside. Although the AC works great, we don't like being trapped inside between 10AM - 10PM to avoid the Texas sun.

I've promised my husband he can have a weekend at home for every weekend we're away. Personally I could stay home M-F for work and NEVER be here on the weekend and it would suit me just fine. Sometimes it is real tempting to just stay at the park on Sunday and camp out for a whole week if we are close enough to drive in to work. I haven't convinced him of that yet...

We like to go camping every chance we get. Mainly 3 day weekends from Spring through Fall.

A few variables go into our camping days. Mainly the weather and our pets. We have others at home, besides our camping buddy, and can only be away short intervals ( 3 days at the most ) unless we get a sitter. So we just make the most of the time we have, and enjoy it immensely. We mainly camp close to home, so a quick jaunt back home is no problem, if needed.

We do have 2 pre-planned camping trips ( anxiously awaiting ) already lined up. And then whatever we can squeeze in between is a plus.

Would we like more camping days? Sure! But, we enjoy the times we are able to get away just as much. Any camping time is better than NONE!

I have the time but not the budget so my camping is a bit limited compared to what it could be.

I don't like camping during the hotter months so much of summer is out unless I head to the beach. I do like camping in the fall.

x2. Same here. We don't do Holiday camping ANYTIME! Holiday Camping can bring out the worst of "pet peeves".
