We spent 3 1/2 months on the road this year. Took a dream trip from North Carolina through many wonderful States, into Canada, Yukon Territory and Alaska. It was amazing. Unfortunately we took our RV to the dealer for some warranty work and they have had it for three months so we missed out on late summer and fall trips we were planning to take. Service after the sale is the weakest link in RV ownership.

six weeks this year, but just retired so it's gonna be a lot more next year. Wife's already booked 28 days at a Good Sams up by Mt Rushmore, with 4 reservations at different campgrounds going up, and coming back. Than after a rest and oil change and tire rotation it'll be out west starting with Carlsbad. 42 days this year.

We did a little over 30 days this year, with few more planned right after christmas when we will head south from NY, just like we did last year. I usually have a slow time with work from christmas to mid january, so about a 2 week trip down south to get away from the cold works out nice. Then we usually take about a week in rhode island around our anniversary in june and maybe a week or so in early september (maine last year and OBX this year) Other than that we try to squeeze in some one night trips or long weekends whenever we can. 30 ish nights is about a full month of camping, so for non-retired people i think we make pretty good use of it.

Smile Times out this year

Just went to viewing for another friend, younger than me , gonna make the most of what I've got left. Drove 48 state tractor trailer but the wife hasn't seen a whole lot of what there is in this country to see. Rock spires in Idaho, basalt in Washington, cliff dwellers in NM. You get the idea.

8 of us on Canada's west coast did the RV trip to out do all trips of trips. From Victoria on Vncouver islandwe hopped the ferry to the mainland, then hwy 1 to HOPE,Bc and the North to mile zero of the Alcan Hwy. all the way to Whitehorse Yukon and then North again to Dawson City Yukon ( the centre of the Yukon gold rush. We unhooked the 5th wheels / trailers and headed North even more to the Hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk in the NWT ( North West Territories). Camped over night in the truck bed using a truck bed tent ( self supporting). Breakfast in the gale force winds off the Arctic ocean and headed home.( another 750 kms to Dawson City), then south thru the Stewart Cassiar Hwy but a wuick side trip into Chicken Alaska and then back into British Columbia at Beaver Creek. Wonderful Canada Customs staff who could tell by the mud on the 5th wheel that we had been way North. Now I can honestly say that we and dog and 5th wheel have been to all 3 oceans that touch Canada!

finally home after 9100 kms and 6 weeks later.

Recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure. carry 2 spares for truck and trailer / 5th wheel- we never had to use any.unhook in Dawson city unless you have a death wish for damage to shocks .

this is not your weekend camping so extra gasonline and lots of maps and GPS.

Pround Canadain.

Sounds like an amazing trip.
We left BC and spent 2 weeks driving to New Brunswick. Spent 5 weeks there, 2 weeks in PEI, a month in Newfoundland, a month in Nova Scotia, dropped the motorhome off and caught a ferry to the Magdalen Islands for a few days. Quick trip home after a stop at Niagara Falls. 9,500 kilometres with the motorhome plus an additional 20,000 with the Jeep.

Amazing country we live in.

We have a wonderful county campground a little over 1 1/2 hours from our home. We pulled in the beginning of June and stayed until almost the end of August.

In September we camped one more week at a rustic park.

Our 2019 camping total was @ 90 days.

I voted in the poll. It was hard to see b/c it looks like a typical banner at the top that I generally scroll by to get to the comments. But it's there on the website version.

Last year was our first year camping and we went four times. However, we already had several weeks of other travel on the books so that cut down opportunities. Plan to use the trailer much more in 2020.

We only made it out one time this year. But that was an eight week 8,000 mile road trip that went from Florida to Idaho, to Montana, to Michigan and the UP, then back to Florida.

Trips in 2019

I left MD on April 20th, went to all states West of the Mississippi and 4 around the Great Lakes. Lacked 10 days being gone for 3 months. 20521 miles, just over 1700 gal fuel. Toyota Highlander Ltd. 2015 model that I purchased last year just for this use. 2109S Rockwood FR TT, 2012 model that I purchased last year and fixed up.

Did another trip in Oct. for 5 days, down to the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway to MP 177 at Maybry Mill then back thru WV. to enjoy the Fall colors etc.
My goal now is to get to the balance of the states East of the Mississippi that I have not already been to before dementia sets in and I don't know where I am.

Ouch.

Is this on purpose or you just haven't had time?

Not nearly as much as we usually do. Sub-floor crack on second trip out, laid a board over it inside across where the frame beams are so we could use it for one more trip. Not sure what to do with it now... sigh.

We average a two or three day trip per month, and since we’re in Southern California, we day camp once a week. The beach we like is exactly ten mikes from our home. It called Doheny Beach and we have the state pass.
