Congratulations! We had a 2000 Rockwood 2602 Ultralite that we purchased gently used in 2001. It was very nice. We travelled and lived in it until 2006 when we finally bought our house. We had it until 2012 when we sold it for a very nice price ty o a guy who was looking for something to live in while travelling to job sites in Colorado and Wyoming. It still looked good! We towed it with a 1990 F150 Lariat 4X4 with a 5.8L V-8 and a 4-speed. It towed it OK but was at its limit.

I saw an RV park outside Alpine AZ that had a 10-year restriction on an RV's age. Anything older is subject to inspection and potential rejection.

From NE Iowa and have been camping since 1963 all over the US and Canada. Started in a tent and owned 2 popups, then a bumper hitch. In January of 2011 we bought a new FR 40 foot Cedar Creek 5th wheel and spent 6 months (7 Winters) on the Gulf coast in Texas. Last summer we traded for a 2018 almost exactly what we had except for lots more bells and whistles. We love both of them and so far no major problems, no more then you'd have in a house. We have the best small town dealer around and they took care of a few small items. Know your dealer!!! I highly recommend https://www.gansenautoandrv.com/ in Riceville, Iowa.

Me! We ordered our brand new 2008 Cherokee 39BS in December of 2007. It arrived on the dealers lot from the factory in February 2008. We currently have it but will be selling it within the next few weeks. We are downsizing to a Salem Cruise Light 273QXBL.

I guess this thread answers the question "Does anybody build a decent RV anymore?"

Well, 10 years ago, they did.

I showed these pictures to a guy at work who is shopping for a new camper. He says "Yeah I like the layout, but it looks so...dated" Well to me it looks like home. And I'm happy when I'm in there, making "where ever" I am at, home

The newer rigs are too dark inside, all the fabric is gone and replaced with dark colored vinyl. I do like the LED lights (I have upgraded to LED) but the ones that come with the rigs are too bluish. But this young man (35, with wife and 3 kids) likes all that and the extra bells/whistles. (Versus me at 62, just the wife.)

I do like the newer exterior coatings that are low maintenance. And the black window trim that doesn't show mold or dirt.

If I could change one thing about my trailer I'd go with the black exterior trim and the new clear coat finish.

Not a Forest River, but I've been camping with her for about 10 years, both on land and in the water. Bought her sight unseen on ebay - in pretty good shape for a '72 model. She has full galley w/ oven and microwave - generator - air conditioning - freezer - sleeps 7.

She's 8 years old. We've never had an issue (that wasn't self inflicted). We will only get a new one when it's time to downsize.

This was our last campground in this camper. Had just turned 10. I thought it still looked good for 10 years old. No faded decals.

That's way cool! Tell me more about it! I know someone who might be interested in something like that!

Funny you should say that because the Mallard in the previous post was purchased the same way!

His is my 06 Salem Toyhauler made last payment today after 12 years. 1st pic is 3 years ago at Tybe island. 2nd pic is her final resting place on a permanent site next to our 17 38EL that we are full time in. The old one is our guest house and storage. We used it for three months last year when 17 when in for warranty work. Only things I have done, are insulation of the garage floor, tankless water heater, see level 2 tank monitor. New ac 2 months ago. It has been a great rig.Click image for larger version
