Beautiful! I love the Grand Canyon. I've actually never camped ON the Rim, always just down below.

Cinder Hill on East Lake in Oregon. I drove up a couple of hours before my husband, and I can't figure out how I backed into this site within scratching anything.i had to get out several times to check my position. We have the same site in a few weeks, and I already plan to drive past the site, turn around, and go into it nose first. It will give us more space near the door, and it will keep us from having to duck the rear slide every time we want to walk to the picnic table.Click image for larger version

Just an overnighter at Carolina crossroads resort on our way to Lakewood campground at myrtle beach tomorrow.

Carolina Crossroads was recommended by this forum. Nice place and reasonable for $33 with good Sam membership. Thanks everyone. On the way home in 10 days I just booked KOA in Fredericksburg VA as our mid way stop.

Hi Frank, sorry to be long getting back to you. The view sites are along the outer edge of the CG. I believe they are 11, 14, 15, 16 as you look at the map.
We like any any along the outer edge as you are not looking into anyone else's camp. In any case you are only a short walk from anywhere in the CG to the Transept trail with many beautiful ledges to walk out and photograph down canyon to Bright Angel. I shot the posted photo at sunset. It really lights up the canyon nicely from behind you. Have not visited Toroweap but it is on my bucket list. If you would like to see more photos from North Rim I posted an album. Just click on Canonman and you'll see it. Here are a couple from Cape Royal. Another great spot in the park for sunset photos.

Our first trip of the year. 4 nights at Old Stone Fort State Park Manchester TN. Our sight was very shaded but not very wide. There are lots of things to visit during the day.

Thumbs down Shortest Camping trip ever!!!

Soquel campground, above Bass Lake, CA. Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Well we got less than 24 hrs in before we had to pack up and bug out due to a forest fire. Ironically, it was started by a friends of ours truck and trailer that was coming up for the weekend. both truck and brand new trailer burned to the ground, thank god everyone is ok.

5hrs and 49 miles of backwoods logging road to get out. Im gonna give the trailer a thorough inspection tomorrow morning to make sure no broken springs or shackles or anything. Below are pics and a link to the fire. Crazy times in the old travel trailer!!!

[QUOTE=bboorman;885834]Santa Barbara Sunrise RV Park

Not a fun place. Wouldn't give the Good Sam discount although they are a Good Sam RV Park. Noisy, very noisy right along the 101 Fwy in Santa Barbara.

Have to get my over priced 10% direct from Good Sam.

Good to know, it's a park I've been wondering about.

Wow.
Glad everyone was OK.
That would be horrible.
