I've stayed in places and paid $$$ and thought, they must be charging for sunlight or something. Have stayed in places that were nice but only paid $$. And have stayed in $ places and they should have paid ME
for the view!
I've stayed in Pirate Land and Ocean Lakes and thought the price was worth it. The concrete pad helps keep the sand down and also the red ants away from the camper. Our friends had an issue with the ants one year while not on concrete.
I know sand gets everywhere and you're at the beach, but I get tired of vacuuming all day every day. I have mats, but the concrete helps reduce the amount.
