Douglas Dam TVA (tailwater) campground through July 4th, our maiden voyage with the new to us camper. Major rain came through last night, no leaks

First pic is out the front door looking at the river downstream of Douglas Dam (in east TN, between Kodak and Dandridge). the second pic is of the CG looking down from the bridge crossing the river. Our TT is about in the middle of the pic (green tent to the left of the TT). It's only Tuesday and the CG is almost full up!

So how was Lakewood, wife and I have reservations in July ! Thaking Daughter, and Granddaughter. Granddaughter is in a wheelchair, hoping some of the sreas are wheelchair accessible.

We loved it. Shouldn't have any problems with the daughter's accessibility. We did rent a golf cart for the stay.

It's pretty nice. We're in the tailwater section (below the dam). It's $23 / night off the river and I think $26 on ($16 / $18 with Golden Age pass). Water and power hookups, hot showers in the bathrooms, boat ramp (one on both the headwater and tailwater sides). The headwater campground has direct access onto Douglas Lake, including a beach area and pavilion. Playground is only on the tailwater side though, if you have kids. The CG hosts are really great folks. Pretty sure it's first come, first serve on sites, no reservations.

We stayed at Douglas Dam CG. about 4 years ago. I think it was in the first space back row. Question do they still allow the people to just move to a new space every 30 day's or when they hit there max? There was a group that just kept changing spots, had the river spots all tied up. Did the TVA ever change that rule? I liked it there, back out of the madness just down the road....

Here we are setup at Thousand Trails Orlando:

As you can see, it's pretty empty:

TVA has now contracted oversight of the campground out to a private company. I'll ask the hosts about it and let you know.
