You're right about that. The campground offers so much for youngsters (we have a 10 yr old daughter) - indoor pool, inflatable "pillow/trampoline thing", trike rental, arcade, mini golf, fishing. Not to mention skiing nearby (Cataloochee Ski Resort), plenty of 'tourist traps', elk heard, etc.
We use to stay at Yogi in the Smokies anytime we went to Cherokee, but I gotta say, the KOA is much nicer. We noticed that the clientele at Jellystone really started going downhill over the last few years. KOA's take some criticism for being expensive, but you get what you pay for (in some cases)...
