It is an older campground, a little run down (but then it is off season here so perhaps not a lot of maintenance work going on) but a nice park. Lots of bath houses that seem to get a lot of attention all day. The staff are all very nice, the sites are level and connections are close enough. I use Verizon and get maximum signal strength. Campground WIFI is ok, but again not many users right now. All concrete pads with picnic tables. Don't look for any trees. It was a comfortable 4 hour ride for us from Durham. Roads were good all the way.

Furever Campsite

This is our furever campsite -- a piece of land we bought in Michigan's Thumb where we can get away on our day off.

We will be at the Cape Hatteras KOA next weekend! That CG looks pretty cool. I'd like to check that one out at some point.

We live in Greensboro so I am guessing 5 1/5 hours from here. Enjoy your stay.

This is a couple of weeks old. This was our first trip away from the house after buying the trailer in January. We had a funeral to go to out of town in the middle of nowhere Missouri. No hotel within an hour, but several state parks. The weather was supposed to be upper 60s, great for March, so we hook up the trailer and headed out.

This is at Johnson's Shutins State Park. Only 2 or 3 of us in the CG this weekend. The first of May through October, you won't find an empty spot on any weekend.

That's about right from Greensboro. Mapquest shows 4 hr, 51 mins. A fuel stop and quick rest= 5.5 hours. I took HWY98 east from Durham for a long way before getting on HWY64. It is 2 lane but a good road.

I had not thought about 98, but that might be a good way to bypass 40 and Raleigh. I hate taking 40 through Raleigh.

Construction through Raleigh on I-40 is awful. If you don't do 98, at least go I-540 to 264. That route will miss the ugly construction.

It's more of a parking area to the front/side of the farm. But it is very quiet- there's nothing around!

Do not know if I would be brave enough to camp in MX. Looks nice though.

I have been going down for the past 5 years each March with friends.
If is only 70 miles south of Arizona border and very safe for travelling.
This is a well protected zone and no issues what so ever.
All you hear about in the news is the big busts in Texas, California and Tucson Arizona area.
I'm in a RV club and we have 22 rigs go down in groups each year.
Here is a pic of me and one of the 120 trigger fish we caught on the 54 ft boat I rented for the group for $450 for a all day fishing trip.
