Thanks for sharing, incredible. For trips to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, I think we have found a keeper.Twin Creek is the last campground before Gatlinburg, other side from Pigeon Forge and all the hubbub…
Trolley runs right in front of campground and will take you anywhere, including the National Forests. Good grocery store across the street as well as the best Italian restaurant I have found in more than 30 years living all over the south, “A Taste of Italy”.
Hit the wrong post for quote, thanks for sharing uhduh camping...

Does the Twin Creek campground have free shuttle service right into downtown Gatlinburg? I read about a campground somewhere near Gatlinburg that has free shuttle service but can't find/remember which campground it was. That would be a nice service to have to enjoy a few moonshine tastings in Gatlinburg!

Not free, but close. Below is the link, to city Trolley. Click on routes and fares, some are .50 cents one way, some are $1.00 to $2.00 for all day. As you will see, the coverage is extensive, will even take you to Dolly Wood.

Really Nice TURBS, hope it was a good trip. I am Jonzing' my two trips one in April and one in the beginning of May were cancelled due to crappy weather in the NEast, so next trip is 2 weeks away then a week later, need the weather to improve here in East Coast, ugh.

Service Park COE campground Silas, AL. On the banks of the Tombigbee River. 10 miles to nearest restaurant. Ample barge traffic to watch as well as yachts and sailboats going from the Gulf to the Tennessee River. As one other RVr said, "It's the best place there is to do nothing". Limited OTA television, good Verizon. Only 35 campsites with over half being pull-thru's on the riverbank. There are "gators" in the river so don't leave your animals outside unattended especially around the boat ramp. Not a big threat but a threat none the less. There have been some nice doggies become a snack.

Gunter Hill COE, Montgomery, AL on the Alabama River. If you camp here try to get a site on the Catoma Loop as all the sites are FHU and concrete pads. The older loop has all W/E and gravel pads. The only drawback to this campground is the noise from a car racetrack about a 1/2 mile away that is busy on weekends. Other than that it is a beautiful place with Spanish moss hanging in the trees. Watch out because gators have been spotted in the river.

A lot of campsites you folks are posting pictures of have hard pads of concrete or asphalt. Even state parks. Is that typical in the US? It seems like the only CGs up here that have hard surface pads are expensive RV resorts.

They must be building more deluxe sites. We stayed at the same site last September. We love the place and the area.
