Otsego Lake State Park/Michigan
This is our favorite state park in Michigan. It is located in the town of Waters, which is just outside of Gaylord Michigan. There is plenty to do in the area and the water sites are breathtaking, though somewhat hard to obtain during peak season. Usually, you have to reserve 6 months ahead.......but it's worth it.

6 months in Wisconsin with our new Grandson.
Starting May 1st thru Nov 1st. Fabulous seasonal campsite at Rustic Timbers Campground in Egg Harbor, Door County, WI. Enjoyed every minute, everyday. Beautiful area with plenty to do. Plus our NEW Grandson is here.

Chena Hot Springs Road, mile 39.2 boat launch across from Tors Trail Camp Ground, Fairbanks, AK.
We like to park near the boat launch close to the river.

Well my first post went well ....... We are newbies at camping. We got our TT in March and started going once a month. We enjoyed it so much in July we upped it to every other week. We have been going to local State parks, those within about a 3 or 4 hour drive. The earlier post was from Lake Tawakoni State Park the weekend of July 28th.
This is at Cleburne State Park the weekend of August 12th ish.......

We love Cleburne! Also enjoyed Daingerfield, especially in the fall.

BUT, it was a beautiful park with a ton going.
We visited Fort Sumter while we were there. This was a great tie-in to our Civil War lessons that we are doing right now.

We love Charleston. The wife and I lived there for a few years back in the mid-90s when I was in the Air Force. We were just back there the first week of August. We didn't camp though because the kids were with us. They're not into camping AT ALL, so when we bought a new camper this year, we got one JUST big enough for the two of us. Rented a house in Mt. Pleasant. Didn't get to James Island this trip, but we did visit friends who live on John's Island, right "next door." Also went to Ft. Sumter (again). Did you go to Patriots Point? I highly recommend that.

At least not in summer. For me it has nothing to do with spiders, but rather my low melting point.

What's funny is back in April, we stayed at a farm in John's Island. As we drive to James Island, we finally realized how close the two were!
We didn't got to Patriots Point, though I've heard good things about it. We were only supposed to be in Charleston for just a couple days w/ only 1 sight-seeing day. We went to Fort Sumter, did a carriage tour ride, and went out to dinner. Even with extending our stay, I was working and fighting the camper.
We do definitely want to go back!
