KOA in Boone, NC. Nice campground although sites are close together. 
Took short drive to Todd NC and did a 20 mile bike ride on Railroad Grade Rd between Todd and Fleetwood NC. Beautiful ride right by the New River

WE normally camp at Camp Hatteras but decided to try Ocean WAVES it's a lot smaller not to mention $30 a night cheaper it is really nice and suites all our needs it appears it's a older group of people. Well worth the price

Let's see your 2016 Campsites
Spent the weekend at Rivers Edge RV park in Casper, WY. Went to watch my nephew play football in the Shrine Bowl. Then took an extra couple days and went fly fishing at the Miracle Mile on the North Platte. A rough 25 miles getting in but not that bad. Caught my first trout on a fly rod. Lots of bites but need to learn how to set the hook. Pics are from Miracle Mile.

Hillman Ferry Campground Land between the lakes. Lake photo not my site....just a short walk. Kayak or canoe easily are launched from here.

Leg two of our trip is the Smoky Mountains quiet side in Cosby TN. Imagination Mountain Streamside campground. Really nice place with super clean campground and awesome owners.

Are there a lot of mosquitos and mats being that close to the water? I would love to be that close to a river, lake or stream

Man...that looks great. We've a few like that in Maine, and for me, beats parking lot RV'ing.
Wicked1 has good question....if that were Maine, May and part of June would be hellish with blackflies and mosquitoes. I've been using a Thermocell when sitting out, works pretty good.
