The bright-side is that it soaks into the ground pretty quick and doesn't leave a muddy mess behind. It's quite amazing, actually.

I saw your flood photos. Do you now watch for what you can put on the ground and think about tethering it?

Back when I kayaked and was on a kayak fishing forum, the saying was "if you love it, leash it." It definitely comes to mind!

Wife doesn't appreciate it so much. I love the snot out of her.

How do you pick your next site? Times? Etc.
Do you time it around any local events? Or just " fly by the seat of your pants "?

I've been there! Is this just an overnight for you? Or are you spending any time in the area?

If you're staying in the area, search out Monument Rocks. It's about 90 minutes from there but are pretty cool. The kids and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

It's mostly pre-planned around what we want to do and avoiding cold weather.

There are some pre-existing commitments that make us be places- Florida in July, then New York in September, and Florida again in October.

And then there is some fly by the seat of our pants- I'm still not 100% where we head for July 5-18.

Truthfully, it's way more planned than I would like.

Well then, if you really want to avoid cold weather...
You have an open invite to come visit us, say mid January?

That sounds WON....err...terrible.

I was unhappy being anywhere but Florida this past winter. From southern California across the bottom of the country- 50-60F days were too cold for this warm blooded bloke.
