KOA Fredericksburg VA for an overnight stay on our way home (PA) from Myrtle Beach for the past 10 nights. Decided to break up the trip in two on the return trip. I'm glad I did traffic was getting bad on 95 so I was ready for a beer. Nice campground. Was able secure a pull through site next to the lake. Same spot we had last year.

In case anyone's wondering what's up with the KOA after KOA thing.
Well I downloaded the KOA app, joined, and I figured ok now I'm testing this KOA thing on this 3 week trip. So far so good.

Did you make reservations ahead of time?
Planning to do the same thing when we head to Utah at the end of the month.
I have a Route 66 membership that get me 10% off at KOA.

Yes I did. I use the KOA app to make reservations for my next stop when I arrive at a place. Try to keep my daily tow to 400 miles or less per day. Although I had to do a little over that a few times. Not a big deal. That site on the Colorado river was $38 a night, full hookups with the member discount. All of my stops have been in the $30ish range with the exception being this 4 day stop in Pomona, CA. It ran $48 per night with discount due to the holiday.

So far I've been happy with the KOA scene. Heading to Williams, AZ after this on July 5th. I hope it's decent too.

Paying $70 for tonight at KOA Fredericksburg VA with no discount. On the pricey side.

Considering I think I paid $83 in Myrtle beach for ocean access and a water park.

Family property. My parents bought it in 1958.
My brother & I are joining my sister (who still owns the property) for the weekend.

Williams is okay. Nothing fancy. However Williams is the only place I ever had to put my truck in 4 wheel drive to get out of a campground. Got about 5 inches of snow the night before we left. I wonder if I can find a picture....

Bear cove campground in TN. This is a very nice place. I would definitely stay here again

Just did Williams two weeks ago. Pretty laid-back and relaxing after a crowded day at the Canyon. Lot of families with kids (including us). I think it's the closest commercial campground to the NP which probably explains it.
